So do you think he doesn't bring a girl because of his fandom? Does he have a girlfriend? He probably wants to keep it a secret, and I can't blame him.

I don't know the answer to either of your questions. In any case, if he wants to keep his private life private, more power to him. Some fans have been downright nasty in the past to some of the girls he's dated (or has been rumored to date). So maybe, it's not because of fandom per se that he's not bringing a girl, but I can't help but think that he must be thinking about how it too.

I wasn't that much surprised by the suit he's wearing, LOL, but more by the glasses and he's also wearing more rings than I am, and they're also bigger, LOL.

I've never seen the Scream movies.

The radio station in Vegas released a video of David doing the Adele song, and of course, they have the best sound!

David Cook Covers “Rolling In The Deep”

Oh. and David is supposed to be on Idol next week (the 21st) to perform The Last Goodbye! I wonder if we'll hear the song before it's officially released in a week. I hope so!

David Cook likes Pia.

“Hopefully, it galvanizes Pia’s fanbase,” season seven winner David Cook told me at last night’s Scream 4 premiere. “I think she’s so talented. I think the sky’s the limit for her. She has the opportunity to seize it right now.” Even so, Cook blasted Toscano’s elimination as “shocking.” “I don’t think it was the right move,” he said.

I think I missed something with her. Honestly I could bared stay awake when she sang. Anyhow, it's nice that celebs are being nice to her but I doubt they voted for her. Also, it's funny how things develop a life of their own. It's like the "Adam should have won" thing. People say that, now, who never even watched the show (or so it seems to me). This is very different from what people seemed to think at the time.

...and obviously people voted for Kris. But the media latches onto what they think is a good story - now it's Pia. This too shall pass - but in the meantime, we have to grin and bear it, I guess.

I just watched Idoloonies, and I kind of understood Slezak and Alexis Grace bitching about Pia's elimination for 20 minutes since it was shocking. I was absolutely shocked when it happened, I would've booted both Stefano and Jacob before her without hesitation. But I couldn't help but roll my eyes at Slezak and Alexis at the same time. It's done, it's done, let's move on. We can blame the judges, Uncle Nigel or the audience as much as we want, but it won't change anything to the result. Life goes on. And Pia was one of the best vocalists this year, but she was one of the worst performers. No matter how she is in "real life", she was boring as a performer and she didn't appear very versatile. Good for her if people just forget about her short-comings (and Slezak seemed to forget them very fast), but I don't expect this girl to become a huge hit. The end of the season is still several weeks away and she may just be forgotten by then.

Pia who?

Did you see the TMZ thing on MJ's about Lauren and Scotty being the front runners (in votes)? Who knows? It's only Top 8, anything can happen.

I think Pia was dragging the show down a bit. I think now that she's gone it will not be that much different but there will be (maybe) a lighter tone. I'm probably exaggerating things, but she and her musical choices were kind of tough going, for me.

Who do you guys think will win?

Ever since the beginning I've had a weird feeling Paul would win. I also have a suspicion Stefano will improve enough to surge ahead a bit. These are oddball predictions, I know. They've both been in the bottom. But they both have the most laid-back personalities (not counting Scotty - he's a little too laid back for me). I do like Lauren but I haven't paid enough attention to her. Scotty - if he wins it would be very uninteresting, don't you think?

Scotty. I've pretty sure about that for a couple of weeks now. I think he's running away with this. So unless someone starts to perform spectacularly, I believe Scotty has this in the bag.

Yes, it would be uninteresting for me as well if Scotty wins, but I'm sure plenty of people would find it very interesting. Idol alums have done very well in the country music genre.

Pia'd out. I hope to god someone is amazing this week so we can have a Pia break in idol-land.

Scotty, eh? BLARGH. :)

I'm not sure who I want to win yet, but I'm almost certain it isn't him. that could change...

Same thing for me. I still think he will win though, no matter if I want it or not!

I'm still rooting for Haley though this week. Go Haley!

Scotty is the one I always forget. Like season 8, it was Scott McIntyre. I mean, when I look back on the week's show, I forget (forgot) they performed.

I'm going to go out on a limb (I guess) and say he won't win. We have a long way to go, yet. It would be funny if, after all the talk about how boring last season's contestants were, this guy ends up winning the "New & Improved" Idol. Not that he's bad - He's not. He has a god-given voice and he sounds as perfect as a recording. But you know what I mean.

That's Stefano for me this year (aside from his Wildcard performance which was amazing) I'm just haven't been feeling Stefano lately. Doesn't it feel like we've been on the big stage for ever and ever? (lol - we have) I kinda miss the transition to the big stage. Weird.

EEEEE!! Lyndsey interviews Kris about Gigantic.. So funny.

(Some rehearsal footage of Kris on "Gigantic.")

The Haley love from you guys baffles me! Haha. Oh, well.

Yeah - I missed the smaller stage in the earlier rounds - it was better to get to know the contestants - it felt more intimate - and it was probably better for them - probably more comfortable. Taking away the transition to the big stage of course robbed the show of some excitement, too. And yeah it seems like forever. Starting "big" leaves you nothing to build to. Which is also my critique of Stefano's singing.

Stefano could be good. He looks like it. The way he sits or stands - he looks cool and casual. Then he sings - and he's stiff, and his singing is uninteresting. Good voice, pretty good pitch. But he doesn't seem to know how to just relax and seem casual and make the audience enjoy a song. He's pageanty onstage - once he gets offstage, he doesn't seem to be. Weird. I don't think he gets good advice.

Wonder if he could ever be casual?

Should I post the link as well?

LMAO! YES! :)

Just watching Idoloonies.. um, Alexis Grace... "Stop messing with people's careers.." WHAT?!? lol She put her career into this crazy blender. This wasn't Pia's first attempt. This is the 5th time she tried out. She was aware of what she was getting into. And it's um, kinda working out for her..

Zorro looks tiny again :) so cute.

The fact that idoloonies was intercut with Buffy the musical made it all better. Jason's a great editor.

I'm glad I don't have sound because I think this episode of Idoloonies would likely drive me crazy.

While I was watching, I was definitely telling myself "this would drive ross crazy". Not that it wasn't good, but they did talk about Pia's elimination for almost 20 minutes, LOL.

But Buffy the musical was indeed a great addition!

Haha! Yeah, I'm not sorry I missed it. I wouldn't have voted for her for twenty minutes, never mind listen to Slezak and Alexis. lol

I've missed Slezak, this year. Last year, I didn't watch a lot. He originally bugged when he left Casey James out of a couple of the first episodes. I mean - Paige Miles? - instead of someone like Casey, who's a solid musician? I didn't get where he was coming from. Then, as the season ground on, I guess I wasn't interested in recaps of episodes I could hardly sit through to begin with.

Is Pia a favorite of his? Sometimes I agree with his tastes (and his rants) and sometimes I'm confused.

I'm not sure what tour is being referred to, here - but I guess we'll find out soon? Music Empowers Foundation | Kris Allen Donation Page 4.12.11

Now it's a conspiracy. Pia Toscano, 'American Idol' Conspiracy? Maybe | Gather

He seemed to believe in her potential, but it didn't seem to me that she was his favorite. Actually, he didn't necessarily seem to have a favorite. Well, he's been rooting pretty hard for Haley these last few weeks, just like SleepinIn and I! But other than that, he seemed pretty fair in his assessment of the contestants and I found myself agreeing with him a lot. But you know Slezak always prefers the girls it seems (Carly Smithson, Allison, Crystal) and Pia did seem to be growing on him since a couple of weeks ago, but even then, this week's Pia lovefest on Idoloonies was a bit much.

So yeah, I was a bit confused as well, LOL.

Thanks for the recap. yeah - he does prefer the girls, and that's why I wondered how much he liked her - my guess would be that she wasn't a girl he would love, as a singer. A lot of people are surprised at the number of girls eliminated, but I think the last three standing were the best girls, and Pia was the weakest of the three left. Not that people vote on gender alone. There are a million ways to parse things, on Idol. Do I think guys have a better chance than girls? I really don't - despite what everyone says. Males certainly are more pervasive behind the scenes, in music. Look at Jimmy Iovine and his team of producers. (And all the mentoring has been done by males, as well - such as it is. Gwen Stefani mentored on fashion. Think about it!) But I don't think the voters necessarily prefer guys - maybe slightly - but it all comes down to who can sell a song and who can't. The fact that Crystal went to number two last year proves people don't just vote for men - or for men over women, all the time. I just think the guys are more interesting and more individualistic than the girls - and possibly, more fun - this season.

Good stuff for Kris.

It's one thing to support a charity, but another to put all the work of traveling and performing, personally, into it. It's also good publicity for him but I don't think he's committed to it for that reason.
