So - anyone want to talk about Lee's performance of Little Drummer Boy? Or should I say, LDB?

YouTube - Lee DeWyze- Little Drummer Boy in HD 12/25/10

Rehearsal video:

I just saw an AI comercial on TV featuring Carrie, Lee, Kris, maybe others, I missed most of it.

Kris gets another mention in Japanese fashion mag. for wearing dark blue jeans - which are actually nice, I also have some I wear all the time, very similar.

Well, the crowd seemed to like it. :) They were very peppy. I can't say I feel the same though, I didn't love it.

Matt has a new cat..SO CUTE!! - who I really hope does not start tweeting, because frankly following one pet is quite enough crazy for me.

Matt Giraud's photos - My new babe. Just puuurrring away. Meet Caspian! PRINCE Caspian that is! | Plixi

Zorro is playing games. Zorro Allen's photos - Playing Catan with the family | Plixi (he's adorable!!)

Brrr. Having a kinda snowy morning here. :) Good thing: day off. Bad thing: everything else! Snow, wind, snow, wind, cold, snow, wind.

Zorro is cute (is that Kris in the mirror?). I can't believe how many pictures they take of that pup. Imagine what they'll be like when they have an actual child.

Matt's cat is pretty.

Oops, I almost forgot to comment on Lee.

Well, I kind of liked it. You know I dislike the tone of his voice, and it seemed even worse, there - but I think he's a good singer with a voice that I don't care for, if that makes sense. I actually liked the arrangement. It reminded me of punk. Anyhow, a good, professional job, that's all I can say. I watched it twice and that's enough, though. :)

I like the Bing - Bowie Drummer Boy, also. But normally that is not one of my faves. The B & B version is an exception. Maybe because they added another song as counterpoint:

Bing and Bowie: An Odd Story of Holiday Harmony - washingtonpost.com

I saw the special when it aired originally. I remember it did seem a little weird. I don't remember that Bing was dead when the special aired. I was a kid.

I like this. I have no idea why. Like one of the posters says: "Look at ole Bing Crosby hanging with Diana Ross & Sups and Jose Feliciano I don't why it works but it does. Hot Damn!!!"

YouTube - Supremes, Bing Crosby & José Feliciano -- 'Hit Songs Medley'

I also liked this comment: "There were so many great songs to choose from in late 1968. The decade had produced so many worthy songs. Today, how could such a medley be cobbled together? Do a medley of the songs from 2002 to 2010...It would be a mess."

I guess it depends on who does the medley. I think someone could make it work. It would be about partying in a club with a soul sister though.. :/

Oh, actually, I forgot - Kris could make it work, of course. :)

This morning I tried to find some video of Kris leading worship on the New Life Church website's podcast. But all I found, in my search - which took me to Idolforums, eventually - was an HQ version of Kris singing God Of This City, from way back - which also apparently featured some gymnastics by Daniel (Not during God Of This City. More's the pity. lol). It was a ten - minute video of various church performances, and one (not involving Kris) apparently included Daniel. Also, I watched that video with the (unfortunately) bad sound in which Kris sang with a gospel choir. His face in these songs shows so much - well, bliss might be a good word to describe it.

By the way, did any video ever surface of the Pick Your Purse party (in LA, with Seacrest)?

LOL - that would have been something to see.

I haven't seen anything from the Pick Your Purse thing. Ever notice Seacrest is always absent for the things he hosts? Dude needs to slow down he's going to burn himself out.

And I wish the sound was a lot better on this:

I do too. I remember watching that before. I kinda really love it. It's not really the type of music I'd listen to .. okay not at all.. lol.. but I really loved it and still do.

LMAO. I think Jim and Kris (maybe Katy - lol) were separated at birth or something. One's tweeting pictures of a cat playing scrabble the other's tweeting pictures of a dog playing Catan.

"How you spell katnip?" #ScrabbleCat on Twitpic

Ooooh, nice picture New York Post!

This year, I decided I wouldn't look for spoilers too much. There are way too many people in a top 40! Well, I looked at some of their names that MJ posted, but I already don't remember them. It's good that there will be a stage where they'll be able to sing their own songs (outside of the audition stage) though.

Also, I realized this week that I won't even be able to watch the performance show live this year. I have a dance class that ends at 8 on Wednesdays. Well, I'll be home by 8:20 and if I start watching at that time and with all the commercials, I'll pretty much be done at the same time as people who are watching live! Anyway, it doesn't change anything really, but I just won't be able to live-blog the show on Wednesdays.

What?? You plan to let real life interfere with watching American Idol???

Well, be here as soon as we can, because we need you, missaddcited! Especially since you're usually able to pick the winner from the Top 100 within the first few weeks! (Not really picking the winner, but picking someone you think stands out who just happens to go on to be the winner. I may bet some money this year...)

I never really care about spoilers. I guess it requires too much time and concentration. Besides I don't like to know things in advance. I enjoy reading opinions online after I've seen the show, but I don't want to read about any of it before I see it on my TV.

Singing their own songs (if they choose) - that's interesting. I don't know how it will play out.

LOL! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!

It's true that the last three years (and the three years I've watched AI), my initial favorite went on to win. (Well, Danny was probably my first favorite of season 8, but as soon as I heard Kris sing the Over the Rainbow song on youtube, I was sold to Kris, and that was way before the semi-finals!). Too bad my interest in Lee has been decreasing since I first heard his pre-Idol album. Now my interest in him is pretty much at 0. Or -20.

Yeah, I was sold the same time (on Kris). Danny was someone I admired in a more *distant* way. Lee - is someone who, as you know, I really hated listening to, on the show. But since then - well, I still don't listen to him, but I seem to like him more.
