Okay, I think I'm opposite to almost everything you guys thought. LOL.

I thought the guys stepped up, and the girls were awful. I have no idea who's going to go home.

My favourite tonight was... Casey? LOL Who knew? I thought he sang really well tonight. Crystal I thought was a mess, there seemed to be too much going on in the performance. Siobhan didn't have the needed attitude for the song, and seemed shaky at the start.. but had a giant note at the end that might pull her through.

I thought Aaron was good, but it's country night - he's pretty much expected to be good tonight.

I liked Lee a lot, but not as much as the judges did. :)

Mike.. I thought he sounded really good, but it's just not my thing.

There's no way Crystal is going home, so I think the people at risk at Siobhan and Mike. (well for me anyway) ;)

Okay, finished watching. *sigh* I just can't seem to be bothered at all by this season. I was bored through 90% of the show I think.

Lee: I've come to the conclusion that while I really like his recorded voice (and I really do), I just wouldn't pay to see him make those constipated faces and butchered notes live. Also? He never seems to finish his songs, he always cuts the last note short. Bugs me. I really like his pre-Idol CD, but it's a problem if I love that more than what he's doing on the show. He's clearly doing something wrong somewhere.

Mike: I totally zoned out. Seriously. I started thinking about something that happened today and forgot that I was watching him sing. I guess it was well sung. Oh and I didn't rewind to see what I had missed. Nope.

Casey: Better than usual for sure. The perma-grin was gone and he was performing with emotion. I just don't like his voice though. And the hair. I kind of hate his hair. About the voice: to me he sounds strangled and he has a tendancy to let a goat sing some of his notes. I don't like that. Daughtry does that too and I don't like it either.

Crystal: I'll do like Simon does: I agree with............ ross. I thought I wouldn't like it from the comments I read, but I enjoyed it. I didn't love it, but it would probably be the only performance from tonight that I would re-watch.

Aaron: I think I fell asleep... oh he did it for him mom, aww.... zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Siobhan: Well, I think I prefer uptempo Siobhan to all the other versions of Siobhan. I still hate that I get no sense of artistic identity at all from her. She's all over the place. The shriek-fest at the end was atrocious. I pretty much can't wait until I don't have to watch her sing again.

LOL.

I'm pretty much at the how are they going to sell this tour stage?

Word on Casey's hair. Hate it. Which makes me want to slap myself because I get annoyed when people pick on hair.. but there is seriously something about Casey's hair that really angers me. LMAO. It's an irrational hatred for a hairstyle I can't control it.

I also still think I'm really right to feel this way. So there's that problem too. ;)

Tim. You know, I really like Tim. He doesn't have the strongest voice in the world, but when he was singing his own stuff he sounded the best I've heard him. He's also really aware of himself and his own shortcomings.

Did you watch Timmy with Slezak? I think I'll do that now:

Normally, I wouldn't, but the show was so boring, I'm not voting, and the only thing I can find to watch on TV is a Here's Lucy rerun. So, okay, Tim it is.

I liked Crystal doing country. She's very natural at it. Also, she was very creative in how she chose to sing that. She had sound problems, though. I think I know why, it's hard to regulate sound when someone is going from soft to loud and back again like that.

OMG, thank you for saying this!!! I felt silly but I do also have that irrational hatred for his hair that I don't really understand. I guess it's mainly that I don't think that dude would actually wear his hair like that in real life. It just looks like somebody spent way too much time fluffing his hair or something. I look at Casey and I think of a hair fluffer. No wonder I don't take him seriously.

That's his only saving grace. I think this guy managed to win over the female audience based on his charms. He only got as far as he did because of that. It didn't have to do with his powerful musical gifts. Now, Kris and Cook are guys who can win over guys (as well as women) (And they do have the musical gifts). Because they're real. Tim is just not believable, to me.

Maybe that's why I had an issue with Crystal. The band seems so overbearing somehow, Maybe it wasn't so much Crystal as it was arrangement and sound.

LOL. There must be one there right? (we are so going to musical hell for being this superficial)

I believe him, I just don't think he's all that great. Likeable though.

Casey really should have gotten a haircut, or he should get his hair out of his face. It looks like girl hair. Really doesn't suit him.

Did you see that the Little Rock station added Heartless this week? LOL So Kris had 11 adds, 10 AC and 1 in POP for Heartless.

LOL! The thing is: If I thought Casey was amazing, I probably wouldn't mind. But since I feel he's mediocre at best, my brain concentrates on some other stuff.

I believe him, I just don't think he's all that great. Likeable though.

Yeah, that's my opinion as well. I wouldn't buy a Tim album, but the guy is really likeable and genuine.

You know, the thing about doing a "contestants's original songs" theme week... On Star Académie here in Québec, there are no theme weeks... well the concept is different too. But the contestants are allowed to sing their own songs if they wish to and quite a few of them have chosen to do so (with various degrees of success). It's been like that since 2003. It's not a big deal at all. During the last season, a year ago, a guy did his own song and now it's actually become the first single of his first album. It's not a great song, mind you, but it's getting good airplay on the radio and it's his song. Are you listening Jive? And RCA?

Anyway, it would probably be hard to incorporate something like that in AI, but if they did a theme-free week for once, people could choose to do whatever song, their own or not, and it could work without forcing the ones who are not singwriters to write a song in a week.

OMG, can you imagine the meddling that AI would get into with original songs?? There could be so much drama if the help they gave was awful. It would make for Great tv.

I like theme free. They need to mine some of the other Idol versions. I liked CI's Rock n' roll heaven. That's pretty broad, and when Kelly Clarkson was on they did song from your Idol which I guess is really the same as Inspirational songs, but not as sappy, but CI peeps picked much better songs.

The Next Star here does songwriting with their singers too. (And they're all teenagers!) So it could work.

I think Heartless could easily be a pop hit, though I don't think they did it right (on the album).

Just watched Tim. He explained perfectly what's wrong with Slezak's idea for pairing contestants up with a songwriter. It's not a good idea and Tim (who knows more, having been there) echoed my own sentiments. It sounds good on paper, but the it's too unequal. Even (I think) depending on who gets paired with whom. Just wouldn't work.

I knew the minute Slezak asked what genre Tim would prefer, if he could pick one, he was not going to answer that question. He's a little too good at answering questions he doesn't really have an answer to. (Very much like Lambert, who he sometimes reminds me of). I don't mind if someone says, "I don't know." Or pauses to think, before answering. He's a little too slick for me to trust him totally.

One thing I noticed from that interview, and all the clips from AI, was how many chances Tim had. I mean, I forgot he got to sing that many times. It amazed me, since he was, at best, never more than adequate. Yet people gave him chance after chance.

Tim's really articulate. I found that watching the Dream House, he made me laugh there too, since they asked him why he didn't get upset at the judges telling him he sucked. He said he's from a family of 10 and someone was always telling him to shut up and that he sucked.

HA! I noticed that too! So many unmemorable performances.
