More detailed thoughts:

1. LLWD: Well, it still sounds great!

2. BWCU: I love this one! I mean, I loved it immediately when he performed it in Miami, but I think I'll also love the recorded version!

3. CSA: I think I prefered the live version of it, but still, that beat is irresistible. Groovy!

4. The Truth: I think this one is one of my least favorites. Kris' voice sounds great, but it's a bit bland otherwise. I reserve the right to change my mind when I hear the full song.

5. WAOMF: I really like this one! I don't really know what else to say, because that snippet feels way too short, but it's great.

6. Bring It Back: I think I really prefer the uptempo songs than the mid-tempo ballads. This one feels a bit bland too. I think I was expecting something else from the session with Eg White. I mean, I don't think it's bad, the snippet just doesn't really stand out to me.

7. Red Guitar: Go Kris! I really like this one!! I'm happy that it made the album.

8. Is It Over: I think I like this one better than the other ballads before. It has a bit of a jazzy feel that I like.

9. Let It Rain: I think this one definitely suffers from being in a "snippet" state, but it has huge potential to become a favorite also.

10. Alright With Me: My FAVORITE of all the snippets by far. Can I listen to the snippet over and over all evening? LOVE it! I apologize to Joe King: yes, I find The Fray's music very boring, but THAT is not boring at all!

11. Lifetime: Another mid-tempo ballad. It's good. I'm not totally convinced just yet though... isn't is slightly cheesy?

12. I Need to Know: Love the vulnerability in this one. Love it. It has a haunting quality.

13. Heartless: Can I say how happy I am that they put this instead of NoBo on the album? And that version is AWESOME compared to the AI version. I'll totally be listening to that on repeat.

In conclusion, I'm excited... except maybe for some of the songs that don't stand out as much, but still, I'll give them time!

I'll play!

1. LLWD: Well, it still sounds great!
I agree - still like it. :)

2. BWCU: I love this one! I mean, I loved it immediately when he performed it in Miami, but I think I'll also love the recorded version!
I wasn't feeling this one from the 28 seconds, but it sounds like it's just about to peak my interest as the 30 seconds ended so I'll reserve judgement until I hear the full song. Although now that I've listened a few times, I think I'm into it.

3. CSA: I think I prefered the live version of it, but still, that beat is irresistible. Groovy!
I agree the live version was so funky, dancey awesome that this one suffers a bit in comparison. It is groovy though and I still really like it.

4. The Truth: I think this one is one of my least favorites. Kris' voice sounds great, but it's a bit bland otherwise. I reserve the right to change my mind when I hear the full song.
I with you on The Truth.

5. WAOMF: I really like this one! I don't really know what else to say, because that snippet feels way too short, but it's great.
This song has been in my brain since the weekend. I really love it.

6. Bring It Back: I think I really prefer the uptempo songs than the mid-tempo ballads. This one feels a bit bland too. I think I was expecting something else from the session with Eg White. I mean, I don't think it's bad, the snippet just doesn't really stand out to me.
I want to hear more of this. From the 30 seconds it isn't jumping out at me or causing me to skip it. 30 seconds isn't enough to judge it I think.

7. Red Guitar: Go Kris! I really like this one!! I'm happy that it made the album.
I like it. I'm glad he got his song on the album.

8. Is It Over: I think I like this one better than the other ballads before. It has a bit of a jazzy feel that I like.
I like the falsetto, and it does have a jazzy kind of feel.

9. Let It Rain: I think this one definitely suffers from being in a "snippet" state, but it has huge potential to become a favorite also.
I already love it.

10. Alright With Me: My FAVORITE of all the snippets by far. Can I listen to the snippet over and over all evening? LOVE it! I apologize to Joe King: yes, I find The Fray's music very boring, but THAT is not boring at all!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS. That is all. I want to dance to it, and sing it in the shower and drive in a car with the top down on a long highway and sing it at the top of my lungs. Still need to hear more of it. :)

11. Lifetime: Another mid-tempo ballad. It's good. I'm not totally convinced just yet though... isn't is slightly cheesy?
I'm not feeling it that much from the 30 seconds either.

12. I Need to Know: Love the vulnerability in this one. Love it. It has a haunting quality.
This is beautiful. I'm into it. It sounds so emotionally raw.

13. Heartless: Can I say how happy I am that they put this instead of NoBo on the album? And that version is AWESOME compared to the AI version. I'll totally be listening to that on repeat.
I'm so happy they went for a different version. it's pretty cool, and blingy. OH, and total and complete WORD to the NoBo. Can you imagine? NoBo doesn't deserve to be on this album.

I don't think I can rate 30-second snippets of 4-minute songs. I actually liked everything I heard. I knew people would say they like the live stuff better. In a way that's good. But I think people just say stuff, don't you? I really hate the nitpicking and general negativity on blogs and forums lately. Not just that blog, but everywhere but here. Not just about Kris. I just feel like I'm sitting in a room with a lot of bickering old gossips. lol

I get annoyed (tonight) at the overanalysis of 30-sec clips. How good would the songs we heard on Sunday have sounded if we only heard 30 seconds? (Not you guys -- I'm referring to stuff I was just reading elsewhere.)

I'm not going to listen to all the clips again but I may listen to some...I think they have to sink in a little. So I'm trying to remember what I heard, and some of it is a blur right now.

Well, I've heard the whole BWCU, so I don't really need to review the clip. The whole song is haunting and I was humming parts of it all day today.

CSA...I have a real hard time with song abbreviations...Oh! Yeah. Can't Stay Away. Well, I liked the CD version. I think it's one where you have to hear the whole thing to appreciate it. I assumed the CD version would sound like this so it didn't surprise/disappoint me. Lindsay Parker liked it and hey, that's enough for me. lol. No, seriously, I think I'm going to love it.

And in general I want to make this observation: Kris sounds so awesomely angsty and hard-edged on some of these things. And like he's just not caring how he sounds, which is AWESOME, to me. By that I mean he sounds like he was really giving it. (Somebody over at EW.com commented that they like hearing a singer who feels the music. So, yeah, that's what I like too.)

As I said, I loved the Joe King/Kris tune and I think it's going to be a catchy tune. It was the most Mraz-y sounding song on the CD, I thought. Not literally sounding like Mraz, but jaunty and romantic, and that reminded me of Mraz.

WAOMF...I liked this.

The rest, I guess I have to give more time to, but I know I liked them A LOT...and just liked how his voice was showcased and the clever arrangements.

Thanks for the clip.

All Right With Me...(is that the title?)...that sounds like a good potential single to me.

Now that we have these snippets, it's too long a wait until the album drops. The only consolation is that he might perform another new song or two, somewhere, sometime, before then.

I can so hear that in my head as a single on the radio that people would love. (Hey, that sounds like a Kris sentence!) So of course, they'll never pick it.

ETA: My feeling is that Kris gains cred daily. He always has had it with me, so it's hard to judge. I really like that these are good songs and he wrote most of them.
I think he said he wanted to show he can write, and this is the way to do it!

A lot of people seem to be disliking Heartless, but that song is different -- it builds. You have to hear the whole thing -- especially his version -- the way he builds it. The one that's on the radio has that about it. It just starts out simply and sort of ballad-y, but you know what the song is like. It has levels. It gets exciting about 2/3rds of the way through. I think this version is going to rock.

Tweets and posts and stuff:

RockinAllenFan NO WAY!?! Our bb Kris’s single LLWD is #5 on New Zealand’s Pop iTunes Chart!! People living there are KICK AWESOME!
So far LLWD since to be doing well oversea! YAY for Kris!

LLWD has been getting mad love in the Philippines and Singapore, too. It’s currently #1 in the top radio stations of both countries, as far as I know.

Ha so true! :)

and yay New Zealand! And I agree about cred - I think quietly showing that he has skills is a good thing. I don't know how people doubt that, but whatever.

His Amazon sales have been way up since the snippits leaked too.

And for me it's good to have a different version of Heartless out there. It sounds like it will be cool. When they didn't release it over the summer while they were on tour I didn't think we'd get it. So I'm happy about it - and it sounds like it will be cool. :) If I could get live funky Britney on there as another bonus track I would do it in a heartbeat.

I totally agree with everything you said there. I think I will love the new version of Heartless and his Britney cover is awesome. Of course, I'm also excited for the original songs, but these covers have a special place in my heart!

Wow, Stevie Salas has some awesome things to say about working with Kalan. I hope Kalan gets to make the music that he wants to. From his twitter it seems like he's trying to. I really want to hear it now, and it's also funny about Sass not wanting him to work with anyone but her, lol.

And when he says his partner is managing the bald guy -- that would be Chris D. right? So is his partner also managing Kris now? (I know this was a couple of years ago, lol.. pure speculation)

go Kris, go Kris. I think. He has another interview today.. must. find.
