Nanaimo bars. the homemade kind, not the crap that's mass produced.

Oh yes! Yes! Yes! My absolute favourite!

I have 15 of them in my fridge right now!

In the decade I have lived in America, I have seen Nanaimo bars in just two American cities - the airport in Salt Lake City and the Fresh Market here in Tallahassee. They just got them. I couldn't believe it when I saw them.

I'm giving them out tomorrow at work when I'll be throwing a little Canada Day party!

Wait, make that 14. Yum, yum.

Like I said, lots of families make it different ways. We've always made it with just meat. adding potatoes and carrots makes it go further, and helps absorb the grease if you don't want to be picky about draining the meat.

So Karrie here gets her recipe book sold in stores but realizes she forgot a few things....She decides to fly across Canada in a hot air balloon with a banner "DRAIN THE FAT"

Fat people everywhere protest and the canadian economy hits an all time low do to rioting......
