Some...actually quite a few in canada would agree that it would be in the US's interests for it to become a full republic,
Why would it be in their interests?

That isn't true. If we had a bad Liberal leader ( like we did have) people would still vote liberal simply because they feel Conservatives are evil and the NDP are no good. Ofcourse eventually they had had enough but by then things were so screwed up that it *censored* over the new liberal leader. Which brings me to another point about the American system. I would love to have a system like that, where we can vote for our PM insted of voting for MPs and then which ever group gets the most is in power.

Your oil, your water, Tim Hortons maybe.

Canada is respected in most of the world. Canada has performed with excellence in two world wars and in Korea. Our economy is probably stronger than most of the G-7. What is wrong with our system of government?

You can have Tim's. Us real coffee drinkers dont' bother with that swill. And since we're making wish lists, I'll take a sea side mansion in California, with an overflowing pool.......and man servants, naked of course!
I thought it was all about traditions #juan?

I stopped drinking coffee, my British roots have recently embraced tea. Speaking of which, it's tea time!

And I know there are republics in the commonwealth (like india)..and the healthcare bit isnt a cheaptrick...it's a common thing for conservatives to try and privatise healthcare, so actually it's not really relevent which system you use...your right.
Er yes actually, the monarchy effectivly is the difference between canada and the US, not so much today, but as I say, forget ur past, forget everything.

Paul Martin lost an actual motion of non-confidence put forward by the opposition parties, resulting in a new election (which he called of course, not that he had a choice). If it was a 'real' election, people would still vote for the same people for the same reasons i.e Conservatives=Hilter NDP=Stalin and so on. However, if he's a theiving crook, the majority obviously voted the right way.
