it goes beyond "the social animal". Nothing exists in isolation, and in fact it is the interactions of the nodes of a system that play a major role in defining the node. It is the interactions within systems that are of importance. The social nature of humans adds but one more system to the mix of nested systems at play.
Consciousness is still one of the great mysteries of mankind. We define it philosphically, yet we have nothing objective yet. We have more proof that free will is a subjective illusion.
I understand these nodes as confluance of the forces at large, one of the forces is us.
Perhaps now in this time more than at any other, we can see that free will is in fact subjective illusion. The bombardment in our dayly lives from market forces form free will in narrower and narrower bands, the blinding multiplicity of marketed choice
support the illusion of diversity but actually are the same things in different colours and shapes, what is being sold, substance or cheap flashy titillation.
What is free? When was I ever objective? Can I observe and not affect what I observe? Who said, the ditches on the road to wisdom are littered with the bones of seekers? I do believe I know god though, I have only to look up, the sun meets 99% of my required Godlyness, what on earth is not a product of that force or delivered to us at it's whim, is there an atom on this ball that dosn't obey the will of the big hot one.
