THE Canad Inns corporation has purchased the Metropolitan Theatre and plans to restore the 88-year-old heritage building to a semblance of its neo-classical glory.
The Winnipeg hotel-and-entertainment chain plans to renovate the former movie theatre, build a new structure on the site of an adjacent building to the south and turn both downtown properties into a rock 'n' roll-themed "destination centre."
