SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California may become the only U.S. state to require the sterilization of pets under a bill passed by the state Assembly, pitting dog and cat lovers against animal rights activists.

That's a great idea and I wish it would catch on here. Breeders, show animals have nothing to worry about. Family pets are better off spayed or neutered.

All family pets should be spayed or neutered. We kill half a million unwanted dogs in this state every year. I don't understand why anyone would object to sterilizing animals that shouldn't be bred.

They better not try that in Newfoundland. Would reduce the human population just as quickly! KIDDING>..Im kidding, ya dang newfies.
Wouldn't neutering the pets in Newfoundland just increase illicit sex? Kinda like passing out condoms in high schools? Williams would never allow it.
