It should (So should most municipalities), but the GTA NIMBY's keep losing their collective sh!t whenever it's mentioned.

So build the flipping plants beside the dump, I'm sure those neighbours would appreciate it.

It's such a waste of time, effort, and financial resources to dance around this any longer. This would go such a long way towards solving two problems; over-capacity landfills and electricity shortages.

Our NIMBYs. Toronto should deal with their garbage themselves.
LOL, although I more or less agree, I thought you had a real argument for your position.

Shipping it to Kirkland Lake was dealing with it, in a far more efficient way than what ended up happening.

I hate NIMBY-ism. We have a test facility not far from here for wind power generators. They're trying to determine if Lake Simcoe is a suitable location for wind turbines.

I have no problem with it being here, if it doesn't disrupt the wildlife. I really don't get hung up on views.

We had a natural gas power plant in the works too, but the NIMBY's drove it off. It would have brought almost 1000 permanent full time jobs and training to our area. What a loss.

We also have the land where an old aluminum foundry sat. Now it's just a contaminated dust bowl. A company was wiorking vigilantly to purchase the land, decontaminate it, and set up a soil reclamation facility on it.

The NIMBY's lost their sh!t.
