At some point here we have yat another federal election coming up.

IF you were to design, create, construct a platform for YOUR new national political party. What would it be?

Meet our foreign aid goal of 0.7%. This was our idea, for Christ sakes...to still be lagging behind is embarrassing.

Rebuild our military to enforce our sovereignty in the north and to contribute to UN Peacekeeping missions.

Establish a civilian aid agency.

Cancel NAFTA and renegotiate a trade deal that does not endanger our sovereignty.

Develop mutually beneficial trade relationships with developing nations.

Develop environmentally-friendly energy sources so that we become a leader in those technologies.

Legalise pot. Decriminalise the possession of all other drugs for personal use.

Arrest Stephen Harper for being stupid and greedy. He is clearly a danger to himself and others.

Institute Proportional Representation.

Arrest and jail CEOs of companies found to damaging the environment or engaging in corruption at home or abroad.

Start a blind trust to manage ALL investments of ALL politicans.

That's just a few and they are in no particular order.

Get rid of NAFTA, and deal with the US on a more equal footing rather then letting them run roughshod all over us.

egalize pot, trying to shut down all the criminal grow ops is like trying to put out fires on barbacues when there is a big forest fire ( crack cocaine and crystal meth use) burning nearby. May as well put the stuff in the hands of people that aren't criminal types.

Get an ethics review comission for politicians and their staff that has some teeth. Make it so that any politician found being corrupt gets the boot and is never allowed to run for public office again.

Put stirct standards on general healtiness for foodstufs, banning companies from putting known cancer-causing chemicals in foods.

Act to exceed our greenhouse-gas reduction commitment under Kyoto.

Increase military spending - targetted towards higher mobility & rapid response units.

Allow private delivery of health care.

Get rid of gun registry.

Scrap plans for government run daycare, introduce tax credits for all parents.

Commit to timeline to meet goal of 0.7% for foreign aid.

Ditch the monarchy, install MMMike as lifelong ruler.

Lower taxes on beer & liquor.

Adapt California vehicle emmissions standards across Canada.

be the best you can be and not lie or be underhanded and rude but get to the point and try to prove that we can do it and get the job done and not play such stupited games that are played now but look at the people that are in this great counrty and play a big part in doing our best and know all the realy facts before going in each time. we should stand to gether for all. open our arms and know what are we doing today! lets make a difference lets start now!

Interesting that not one idea has any connection to the fiscal future of the Federal Gov't.... Debt, Deficit, etc.

For instance, after 8 or 9 straight years of balanced budgets, why is there still a federal Deficit Reduction Surtax, on our Income tax forms? WTF?

If this were a federal party in Canada, here is my platform ...

- Drastically reinforce the Canadian Military.

- Institute a 33% Federal Tax Cap.

- Reward companies performing well (taxwise). Provide initial tax exemptions for major new investment.

- Re-Employ Capital Punishment.

- Increase foreign aid to severely impovershed countries.

- Allow private health care to co-exist with public health care. This would allow an individual to opt out of paying his/her share of taxes for public health care. It would also provide coverage to newcomers who don't immediately qualify for public health care.

- Scrap the federal gun registry and allow Canadian Citizens with no criminal record legal rights to own guns with no red tape.

- Lower federal spending on government assistance programs for the able bodied persons. Enforce a job placement program with the welfare agency.

- Increase government spending on family oriented programs.

- Keep all drugs illegal (we don't want to encourage addiction).

- Replace the interface between Queen and state with Church and state.

- Bring back the traditional institution of marriage instead of it's current cheap form. Look into legalizing civil unions for the gay community.

- Develop a commision to study the effects of abortion in our society and employ incentives to limit the practice to exceptional circumstances. Incentives would include compensation to the affected persons and reasurance that the child will be given a home though adoption.

NGOs are fine. They are great at what they do. They don't provide useful training for our young people though, and they cannot help promote specifically Canadian aid goals. I don't mean goals like, "Get Canadian business more money," by that...we already have CIDA acting as a shill for Bay Street. I mean things like cutting those living on less than a dollar a day by half in a specific country in a specific time frame.

NAFTA isn't free trade though. Not only do the Americans ignore it at will, but it benefits large corporations to the detriment of workers and small business owners (especially farmers) in all three countries.

You could buy heroin and cocaine over the counter up until the early 20th century. We didn't have a high per capita rate of junkies. Drug addiction is a medical condition caused by social problems. Lets put our energy into addressing those problems.

Check his record. He wanted (still wants?) to adopt the US dollar. He wanted (still wants) to privatise health care. He would like to ban abortion, but is trying to sneak it in the back door because it is politically unpopular. He would like to ban gay marriage. He is clearly a danger to himself and to others.

There are many options. I'm not terribly tied to riding representation because most Canadians vote for a party or leader, not their local candidate. My only stipulation is that if a party gets a certain percentage of the vote nationally, they should get a matching percentage of seats in the House of Commons.

I am sure about the last two. We have a legal fiction that gives corporations the same rights as individuals, yet corporations are not individuals. If I poisoned the water supply or the air, I would be imprisoned, and rightfully so. Corporations do it all the time, and we give them government grants for doing so.

I'd consider a vote for this Party, if they were willing to considere a few moderate additions to their platform:

We oppose the corrupting parliamentary custom of filling posts merely in accordance with party considerations, and without reference to character or abilities.

All citizens shall have equal rights and duties.

It must be the first duty of every citizen to perform physical or mental work. The activities of the individual must not clash with the general interest, but must proceed within the framework of the community and be for the general good.

In view of the enormous sacrifices of life and property demanded of a nation by any war, personal enrichment from war must be regarded as a crime against the nation. We demand therefore the ruthless confiscation of all war profits.

We demand the extensive development of insurance for old age.

We must consider a thorough reconstruction of our national system of education (with the aim of opening the possibility of higher education and of thus obtaining advancement). The curricula of all educational establishments must be brought into line with the requirements of practical life. We demand the education of gifted children of poor parents, whatever their class or occupation, at the expense of the State.

The State must ensure that the nation's health standards are raised by protecting mothers and infants, by prohibiting child labor, by promoting physical strength through legislation providing for compulsory gymnastics and sports, and by the extensive support of clubs engaged in the physical training of youth.

We demand freedom for all religious denominations in the State, provided they do not threaten its existence nor offend its moral feelings. The Party, as such, stands for positive Christianity, but does not commit itself to any particular denomination.

Here's mine;

Keep in mind I DON'T expect to get elected.

-Propose a military alliance including the major English-speaking nations in the world (The USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand) We share the same values, let's join to fight terrorism and defend those values.

Rebuild the military. Re-establish the Airborne Regiment. Train and equip the military to re-act quickly, and fight effectively.

-Dump the registration of firearms. Adopt a simple all-purpose gun owner licensing system.

-Remove the financial requirements for immigration. Accept only bona fide refugees or family members of Canadian citizens. A temporary measure for a few years to give us time to assimilate those we have already taken in.

-Establish a civics and English (or French) program for aspiring Canadian citizens. Establish a test for citizenship.

-Create a police force to track and expel those under order of extradition.

-Bring back the death penalty ONLY for mass murder. Three strikes, you are OUT (Literally) Three judges, three juries, three convictions on separate murder charges, you are executed VERY SOON.

Adopt the 0.7 foreign aid target. Set up a system where the money goes ONLY to nations developing democratically.

The more I think about it, the more I like the Rev's idea of a Canadian Peace Corps.

Work with the USA and Europe to remove farm subsides, thus allowing third world farmers to compete. (GOOD LUCK)

Reform Parliament. Create rules where party discipline is only applied if the matter in question is a confidence vote, or part of the party's platform.

Create a structure for appointment approval, especially for judges.

Promise to appoint elected Senators.

Legalize Marijuana. Tell the Yanks "Oh Well, we agree to disagree"

Join Missile Defense.

Work towards the economic isolation of China until it develops democratic structures. (GOOD LUCK)

Allow private health care, in conjunction with our public system.

Stop the flow of money by grants to special interest groups.

Establish a fund to pay ENTIRELY the tuition of the top 25% of applicants to university. Establish a testing regimen to find that 25%.

Do away ENTIRELY with corporate welfare. In fact, make it illegal.

Establish a flat tax, charged on all income over $25,000.

Do away with the child care initiatives. Provide support for those who have one parent at home while their children are under 12.

Introduce legislation to protect pensions.

Adopt a preferential ballot system.

Should I go on? I really could. I have a wealth of opinions.
