“Believe nothing.
No matter where you read it,
Or who said it,
Even if I have said it,
Unless it agrees with your own reason
And your own common sense.”

Buddha.

I love this quote. I believe it. Since I first read it...I live by it in many ways. It is good to question. It is good to analyze.

I have known lots of people who lived by that motto

They haven't learned anything in 50 or more years, and are still as "dumb" today.

The way I see it belief is like looking through a telescope. The more you believe the more focus you get the less you see the whole picture.

Actually...you make a very good point. I think it's important to pull ideas from a cross section of viewpoints. That's not to say that I don't get kinda narrowed in on a subject and fail to look beyond my own ideas....but, I still advocate pulling ideas from a wide variety of sources for a more...I dunno...balanced look I suppose...if that even makes sense?
