A British death metal band is putting on three shows a week this month, but for those who aren't fans of the genre it's OK — the band will be performing inside an air-tight, soundproof box.
Unfathomable Ruination says it will perform each night until the oxygen in the box runs out, the website Culture24.org.uk reports.
The performance is part of an art installation called Box Sized Die outside The Gherkin in London. The piece is by Portuguese artist Joao Onofre. People who attend the performance will get to observe vibrations from outside.
On its Facebook page, the band said "according to medical professionals ... we're all going to die. Challenge accepted."
"When we start realizing we can't breathe, we open the door," the band said after its first performance Wednesday.
The performances will take place until Aug. 1 as part of the Sculpture in the City festival.

I don't think they've thought this through. They won't gasp for air in a air tight box. They won't even know they've run out of air. They'll simply become tired and lie down, then die from carbon dioxide suffocation.

Maybe the drummer just poofs into green slime like Spinal Tap.

If they've been huffing, puffing or otherwise ingesting ... uh ... injesting ... uh ... they wouldn't know the difference until after darkness catches on
