The huge 65,000 tonne British aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales arrived at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, Singapore on 23rd June.

Carrying 24 aircraft - although she is capable of carrying over 70 F35Bs - and making her first port visit in Asia, she will host members of the public, hold a defence and security industry day and a science and technology symposium.

The British have arrived in Singapore with a Carrier Strike Group headed by the mighty aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales with a desire to have a closer naval cooperation with their Singaporean allies.

The display of British naval might was not a show of belligerence. The British have arrived in the Asian nation seeking closer naval ties.

Exercise Bersama Lima will involve land, air and sea forces from the Five Power Defence Arrangement group - Great Britain, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand. The aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales will join the exercise for the first time.

After visiting Singapore, the huge British aircraft carrier and her escort are now on their way to Japan

The aircraft carrier in question is HMS Prince of Wales who, alongside her sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth, is the largest British warship that has ever existed and one of the largest and most powerful warships in the world. She is capable of carrying up to 70 5th generation fighter aircraft and is equipped with powerful anti-aircraft guns. She is also the current flagship of the Royal Navy.

The enormous vessel and her escort are currently touring the Indo-Pacific are are now on their way to Japan. The Strike Group will also visit Australia and New Zealand.

Here's a closer look at this mighty vessel...
