Link to where I said the Alberta Government should raise taxes.. don't be silly.
Your definition of taxes, are health premiums. I do not consider premiums a tax, hence the word premium.
Premium: The amount the policy-holder or their sponsor (e.g. an employer) pays to the health plan to purchase health coverage. Deductible: The amount that the insured must pay out-of-pocket before the health insurer pays its share.
The government subsidizes the premiums for all citizens, which cost tax payers. They need to raise the health care premiums to cover the cost of health care, or get out of the Health Insurance Business.. period.
You can play all the word games you like. The reality is that Alberta spends more per capita on program spending than any other province. You can call them premiums, fees or anything that suits you but changes nothing. Prentice chose to take more of my money instead of getting spending under control...and you support that.
