I was barely a teenager in 1968. That was an election year for President. I don't even remember who was elected. Nixon maybe , hell I don't know. All I remember and it is burned in my memory is that Bobby Kennedy was giving a speech and when he was done some son of a b*tch shot him and killed him. I often wonder how things would have been if fate had not raised her ugly head and Bobby would have been elected and I have no doubt that he would have. What elements in our society exist that are capable of murdering a leader simply because he/she doesn't go along to get along. I kind of lost faith and respect in how things were in our country after that. I still remember in 1963 we were sitting in our classroom when our teacher came in crying and told us what had happened to the president. We were dismissed for the day and watch Walter Cronkite for updates. Many years later you begin to observe the light shed on the event and you start to see a sinister plot was in play as mainstream media pinned the job on a single patsy Lee Harvey Oswald. So those two events I saw as a kid not only made me jaded and apathetic but also kind of depressed and a little insecure knowing that if you step on the wrong toes, you will get snuffed out. I liked Bobby Kennedy. He was cut down way too young by forces we will never know about.
