Bio-Tech crops are food crops to be engineered to produce chemicals or drugs. There is no way to ensure that these open air labs do not contaminate our food supply. Perhaps the pharmaceutical corporations HOPE THEY DO.

HONOLULU, Feb. 8
-- In a first step toward public disclosure of test sites of biopharmaceutical crops, the U.S. Department of Agriculture was forced by court order on February 4 to reveal the locations of these sites in Hawaii.
Following the ruling, representatives of the USDA handed over to Earthjustice attorneys information on the precise locations of open-air field tests of biopharmaceutical crops genetically engineered to produce industrial chemicals and drugs.
This marks the first time the federal government has been forced to disclose the location of field tests of genetically engineered crops since it began systematically hiding these locations from the public.

So great! But thats just a start to protecting ourselves. I know what I would do if I lived beside one of these crops.... and I would be in trouble if I suggested that if you live near these crops, it would be in your best interest not to let them become mature crops...

K - we cannot depend on govt. agencies to protect us, they are only there for industry , to help them get away with whatever they want to get away with. This issue is a prime example of that... and this announcment is just a delay and distraction tactic.
