A tax on mileage. How would that work? Force every vehicle owner to have a log book to fill out their mileage? Build toll booths at every intersection and every mile along the interstates and highways? And why not tax cyclists as well? They use the roads for transportation.

Who to believe, who to believe. Apparently a spokesman for the Dept of Transport said there is NO plan to tax mileage, that was just Pete "brainstorming" possible ways to drum up $3 trillion.
The spokesman then stated "To be clear, he never said that VMT was under consideration by the White House as part of this infrastructure plan— and it is not."

Transportation Department says taxing drivers by the mile is not part of Biden's agenda after Buttigieg said it showed 'promise'

A spokesperson for Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he was just having a "broad conversation about a variety of ways to fund transportation."
