Barack Obama is coming to Montreal next month

The Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal just announced that Barack Obama will be coming to Montreal on June 6 to deliver a keynote speech as part of the Chamber’s Bell International Leaders series.

“It is an honour to welcome such a special guest to the Chamber as Montreal celebrates its 375th anniversary,” stated Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.

“At a time when the world is seeking more certainty and stability, and as globalization is forcing us to rethink our existing economic and democratic models, we are proud to host someone who has devoted his actions to human rights, free trade agreements, diplomacy, and economic development. He has demonstrated that harmonious relations between nations are a powerful pathway to reinforcing peace, trade, and the development of new markets.”

The Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal has previously welcomed President Nicolas Sarkozy, Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Senator Arnold Schwarzenegger, President George W. Bush, and many more as part of their International Leader series.

“President Obama is among those who are making history and inspiring youth throughout the world. He keeps us moving forward towards a more equal society based on freedom, hope, and optimism,” said Michel Leblanc.

More information will be available soon on the Chamber’s website so keep checking back!

It's funny the way democrats constantly whinge about the 1%, income inequality and the wage gap, and then defend Obama for charging more to speak for 60 minutes (or less) than the average teacher makes in a decade because it's the Obamessiah.

It is just Justin's way of thanking Obama for meddling in the Canadian elections and giving him the win.

I have no problem with speaking fees charged by either side. Speaking fees are
actually cheaper than writing a book well speaking engagements often promote
book sales. That being said the speaking fees have always matched the market
I personally knew speakers making making fifty and sixty thousand thirty years
ago this is nothing new at all.
People are just learning of it? No people are making it an issue.
It is something that is part of society and always has been I have much bigger
criticisms of some past leaders but this isn't one of them

You'd think Obama would at least donate to the flood relief since he's going there. Oh THAT'S right, Democrats and Liberals never donate their own money. They're just generous with everyone else's.
