Many elementary students in Nova Scotia are struggling with math, the latest assessments show.
The Department of Education released 2007 assessment results on Monday, including a breakdown of how each school fared.
The results show that about one-third of Grade 3 students failed to meet expectations in understanding basic math concepts.

Its not only kids. I see it in stores when I change the cash i'm giveing to a cashier after they have rung in the original amount. Sometimes they have a hell of a time figuring out the correct change. Thats what happens when you have computers and calculators doing the thinking for you.

my students are doing OK with math. their major problem is knowing which math to do when presented with a problem
