He died of Syphilis, because he was denied any treatment for it while in Federal Prison. By the time he was released, he was too far gone for treatment to help. He died totally demented in 1948.
Wow more treasures from history. Capone was probably the most popular of
all the gangsters. I remember my dad telling me a lot of people were on the
side of Dillinger, Machine Gun Kelly, Capone and others because they knew
the cops and the politicians were crooked and most people hated the banks.
Good God we are back there today. No we don't have the same kind of
celeb, gangsters but we have a lot of people who don't trust the police and they
don't like politicians and the bankers and investment crooks.
