mrmom
this is my first day here so you have me confused with someone else.
In case you did'nt know this thread IS about Alberta, have you ever lived there ?
I've noticed there are lots of negative people here that will say anything....whether it's true or not does'nt matter as long as they can find somebody to dump on
It's starting to seem like the new Canadian pastime.

Gary its great to have you on here.

.....Careful with you comments these bigots will label you a Neo-con conservative who loves bush and lives in fear.

But you make some great points about Alberta it just seems that they choose what they want to hear and block out the rest. How else do you explain them calling Alberta greedy when Canada makes more money off the natural resources than Alberta does? They hate the province because we vote conservative and are wealthy.

whatever it makes me happy we will have conservative govts and surpluses and they only watch with hate and envy. ha ha

That flag of hate for your avatar speaks volumes...

Yeah, really. The guy chooses a flag that is known the world over as a symbol of racism and intolerance, then calls us bigots for challenging his political assertions. Pretty bizarre.

Interesting thing about the left wing/socialist.
In order to argue a point or try to win votes against someone who is rightwing/consevative they rely on namecalling and fear. They balance negativity with false facts or concentrate on problems that because of human nature will always be there but miss the big picture.
These type of governments are almost always more corrupt and far more wasteful than consevative governments which usully have to clean up their mess when they form the next government.
The NDP government B.C. had during the 90's was a very good example of that, I had to move to Alberta in 96 because of the economic devastation they caused to B.C.
I am surprised to see so many socialist's in the conservative lounge.....there not hard to spot.

:? It's an interesting conondrum that we live in today, after all what was just mentioned above is practically the mirror image of what the right also uses to a "Tee" in order to sway opinion from the left.

 We can deal with this you know without any rethoric and I mean this for both "sides". We're all calling the pot black in this case, So now that there is a point of agreement here, lets try more of a constructive discussion to the topic at hand rather than constantly dealing with this age old riddle:

Suppose there are two identical twin brothers, one who always lies and the other who always tells the truth. Now, the truth teller is also totally accurate in all his beliefs; all true propositions he believes to be true and all false propositions be believes to be false. The lying brother is totally inaccurate in his beliefs; all true propositions he believes to be false, and all false propositions he believes to be true. The interesting thing is that each brother will give the same answer to the same question. For example, suppose you ask whether two plus two equals four. The accurate truth teller knows that it is and will truthfully answer yes. The inaccurate liar will believe that two plus two does not equal four (since he is inaccurate) and will then lie and say that it does; he will also answer yes.

And they love making false accusations, the kind of stuff being hurled at me in the last 24 hrs has been interesting.....anybody remember Hedy Fry saying "crosses are burning in Prince George as we speak".
How about NDP's Jack Layton and his comments about how Alberta wants to destroy health care in this country or his refusal to support the U.S. missile defense program for North America.....can't wait to hear your responses to this.

Most Canadians were, and still are, against joining Georgies Star Wars program, Gary. Not only is it a destabilising force that has already started a new arms race, but it doesn't even work, so it's a huge waste of money. Conservatives love to waste money though, I've certainly learned that over the years.

So mrmom you want to talk about drug addicts?
Yea, it's a problem here as it is everywhere else. Do I know the solution....don't do drugs, there I just fixed it.
There are lots of reasons for the drug problem's we have around the world it would be nice if one day it is no longer a problem but I won't hold my breath.
As far as the mayor of Vernon, he did a lot of good things with vision and foresight but he also got caught with his hand in the cookie jar which cost the taxpayers several thousand $ But he also brought millions of $ in econmic prosperity to the city and a long term plan for the water, sewer and waste recycling which Vernon did not have before.
Kinda reminds me of when Bill Vanderzam was premier of B.C. , he resigned because of a scandal involving him using the influence of his office to sell his business...fantasy gardens. It was done legaly and cost the taxpayers of B.C. nothing but the Social Credit party fell apart without their leader and the N.D.P. won the next election. This resulted in the wasteing of Billions of $ and 10's of thousands of jobs and far bigger scandals under the N.D.P.

Rev, your confused.
Are you talking about Ronald Reagan's star wars plan or are you talking about ground and ship based missles that are an advanced version of the patroit missle system used to shoot down scud's during the gulf war in 91 ?
You sound like Jack Layton.
