have you bothered to look into the advances that have been made in the treatment of epilepsy due to experiments like the one you describe on kittens?

or the advances that are made in finding working medications for any number of heart conditions by performing experiments on animals?

just because you don't understand or care what the experiments accomplished, doesn't mean they're being done for no reason.

Cutting open dogs hearts - they do this all the time at Dal. What good does this do humans? Well, it hasn't done us any good so far.

Nope, nobody has developed any methods of open heart surgery that benefit humans. Nosirree Bob.
Maybe in the future somebody will magically develop ways to perform surgery on humans' hearts. Until then, we'll just satisfy our sick cravings to needlessly cut up animals. I think Dal gives a post graduate degree in Animal Torture for No Good Reason, actually.
