Amanda Knox case overturned on lack of motive and forensic errors, juror says | World news | The Guardian
This is a statement by one of the jurors in the Amanda Knox trial, attributing the overturn of the conviction to forensic bungling and a lack of motive. You can read between the lines that he thinks there is much more to story than the Defense's contention that neither Amanda of Raffeale were there. In part the zealousness of the Prosecutor, Manini, in his view of the two being part of a dark conspiracy with the Ivory Coast drifter undid his case. It's part of his world view of their being no nuance, moral ambiguity, accident or unintended consequences.. only decision and intention to 'diabolical' crimes of this nature.
The more likely course of events here, imho, is that there was a relationship between the two and the convicted killer related to his drug peddling , which somehow allowed him access to the house. Amanda and Raffaele were either knocked out by GHB or extreme intoxication and were incapable of interceding to Guede's mayhem, which led to a panic and staging of the crime scene when they came to their senses, and were unsure of their own culpability. That's speculation but, it makes more sense than these white bread college kids, as irresponsible, impulsive and promiscuous as they were.. somehow moving from some minor misdemeanors into full scale murder.
