A couple of decades ago, there was a GTA realestate developer named Slough Estates. The term "slough", as in watering hole is not used in the East. I thought that it was as funny as hell.

Yes well the plan might not worked all that well decades ago as it is based on developing the land that is above the water table and the material that is below the water table. Bring in some very heavy machines and push some of the 'high ground' into the water so it squeezes the material ahead of the 'base' and at some point that same material is scooped up and used as topsoil on the new flat field that is behind the machines. You would be left with water that could be used for irrigation or to keep the ground frost free a little longer than normal.

Define Slough Shark- the girl in the bar that gets looking her best right at closing time.
