Well I don't find it too comical at all, if true...

This is a result of your president putting pressure on governments to implement ever more strict security in airports and border crossings...

Nothing good will ever come of this...

I still say this guy is not giving the full story. The security official must have asked him if it was ok to pull his trousers down, and he most probably agreed. In front of a crowd of 300 in a public airport, no one, I repeat no one who has any intelligence will allow themselves to be deliberately humiliated in public this way. When asked, all this guy had to say was ... hell no, I will not have my pants pulled down here in front of all these folks. The security official would have oblidged (the guy would have probably been searched in a private room, but at least not humiliated). Worst case scenario, if you refuse to be searched in private (you have a right not to be searched), you will simply be told that you cannot board the plane and leave the airport.

In that case it must be a relief for the airport authority to know that a bomb going off can be blamed on the security company instead of the airport for hiring a bunch of dolts and not keeping tabs on what's happening on the premises. It just seems like a serious case of passing the buck.

Why are we always trying to blame the Americans for everything...? When you consider world security issues, it's only normal to tighten-up security measures in public airports - that's something to get serious about especially when you know that there are some pretty creepy people roaming this earth of ours. All other countries shouldn't have to be told or pressured into this - they should act upon their own intelligent merits. When you see what's going on in the world today and still, you have to be told...!? International security practices greatly needed to be improved long before today's world incidents. The problem is that internationally gov's are sleeping...

There's some fine people down in the US - I've been there many times... and there is lots of good you can say about American people - AND so why are we always trying to find wrong and constantly criticize...?

Well, you have your point of view and I have mine.
I simply don't agree with you though, precious peapod...!
I noticed that on this wonderful website, either we criticize Americans or we criticize Christians. What's the good in that, friend...?

Most world governments obviously find the risk of hijacking/bombing is minimal enough not to subject their citizens to crazy paranoid security precautions. It's safer to fly than walk the street in many places for crissake.

One must look to why these things are going on in the world, and the response from the international community...look to whose policies begat terrorist attacks...look to whose draconian anti-terrorism legislation was thrust upon free countries in one form or another...and most of all look to who's making an assload of cash off of all of this...

Yeah...terrorism just sorta happened, ya know, and all we can do now is fear it and prepare...

It's cause and effect baby...but the problem is that people are only looking at the effect...

I agree that there needs to be security, but no more than there was pre-911...and if this article is truth, then German security guys took things way too far...

DoubleWitt, pay no attention to negative comments on your postings. Some folks here get a might touchy if everyone doesn't see the world their way. Us conservative minded individuals keep calm and do not use foul language. We prefer to use rational judgement and thinking when confronted with negative comments.

blah! blah! blah! everytime anyone talks about what is going in the world, which leads right back to the american government, some of you try to hide behind, whys everybody picking on me routine. We already know some of great things america has done, we all have american friends, we are talking about your government and his policies and its king. There are more than a few americans that agree with us, so stop whining and prove everyone wrong here.

side note: Don't call me precious either, thats just lame, if your gonna call me something, at least use some imagination :?

I think you meant to say rationalised rational judgement, didntcha? Sorry NJ, I honestly believe that many U.S. citizens have had their 'rational judgements' completely clouded by fear, paranoia and a steady stream of reinforcement of both by your elected officials.

Uh, Doublewitt

There are also some good people in the rest of the world. The U.S. has also been responsible for the deaths of at least four million people since the second world war. I can say some good things about the U.S. because both my parents came from the U.S., but I can't forget about the innocent people who have died because of U.S. corporate greed.
