I do know that when I begin to get a headache, massaging the "haku point" with my thumb brings relief and consequently, I rarely suffer from them.

I get so annoyed with the term 'just a placebo'. The placebo effect is the absolute holy grail of medicine. To be able to tap into the healing power of the body without having to pump it full of costly and often risky medications... that's nothing to turn our noses up at.

Thousands die every year from improperly prescribed drugs. No one has ever died from acupuncture or herbal remedies. I'm always suspicious of doctors who put down alternative healing methods.

Agreed

There is enough evidence out there that we may have some capacity to heal ourselves.
Instead of criticizing we should be researching this potential.
