The PC party took it all, and the reason is people outside of Southern Alberta
are still somewhat sane. The we will be nasty to Quebec, and we will not
tolerate Gays and a host of other nonsense. This is great stuff for the party
faithful, but it does not play well with the average person regardless of party.
I think of it this way there is a group of fanatical right wingers and a number
of left wing fanatics. the great middle of the road slightly left and slightly
right are collectively the great silent majority.
Most of us are middle of the road, and don't subscribe to being divisive and
rude, Wild Rose displayed that in the last week, and they paid for it at the polls.

Alberta Election 2012: Riding-by-riding results - The Globe and Mail

Very interesting results. I'm quite happy with the outcome, even though I'd prefer to vote for a party that defines itself as centrist rather than conservative, even though it is centrist in the end. I wonder if Harper's attempt to slit Redford's throat will bring about some new party badging.

Rural South voters seemed to like WildRose. Northern rural seemed to prefer PC. Urban seemed to be PC with some Lib & NDP (Edmonton only). Reminds me of the typical urban/rural split in Saskatchewan with urban being more left leaning. Or Ontario for that matter with Toronto being left of the rest of the province.

Dippers are socialists. AKA the NDP. NDP stands for Non Democratic Parasites.

Tommy Douglas. One of the few good lefties. Generally credited with Canada having universal health care.

Thanks guys I appreciate the Canadian education.. really, had no idea how much I have missed being outside Canada for so long.

I like the Dippers.. lol
