That's true. so, if we are all the same genetically and our ancestry all links back to the same cave in Africa, then the Metis that lived in Western Canada CAN be considered their own disctinct nation within Canada because their geneology is no longer what's relevant, their history and culture becomes what makes them what they are, and in so doing that means that you can not create a Metis anymore because they existed as a culture not as a geneology.

Bear, he's from Sask. And, no offense to Ron or even to Skatch, but, Saskatchewan is uniquely racist when it comes to the First Nations. Thus, the First Nations people there are really truly, some of the most unsuccessful in our nation, fulfilling their 'justification' for being racist and loathing them. Being someone with Native blood in Saskatchewan would be pretty motivating to develop a stringent, adamant set of reasons that you are NOT associated with them, NOT descended from them, that you are completely and totally different. Just incase anyone asks.
