How come slim chance and fat chance mean the same thing?

(Don't get me started...I got tons of these) :)

Why do we always press down harder when the batteries die?

Why do we drive on the parkway, and park in the driveway?

Why is the black box actually orange?

How come your wife reassures you that your receding hairline doesn't bother her a bit...that she loves you just the way you are. Until you get into a heated argument and she yells, "Shut up, baldy!"

(Okay, I'll stop. But I told ya I'm an encyclopedia of corny jokes) :)

Carlin was a genius, but it does require a certain amount of intellect to appreciate him!

No, I think Carlin got a lot of things right, especially his routine about human inrelligence. I vividly remember in high school hearing from the guidance counsellor that a person of average intelligence will have difficulty with the standard grade 12 academic material, and being appalled. I had no difficulty with any of it, I heard it once and I had it, I thought the people who didn't get it must be dumb. But they were just average, and by definition half of us are below average. I was forced to the conclusion that half of us aren't really very bright.

But there's another little dimension that throws a wrench into the works. They say intelligence is of 7 different kinds, literal, musical, mechanical, spatial etc. etc. They are not all dealt with in school or at least not all to the same degree!
