Mecca, we hear you, and the people who built this church will hear from all of us soon:

Bishop (of Stockholm) Eva Brunne has proposed to remove the Christian symbols of the Seamen's Church in Freeport to make it more inviting for visiting sailors from other religions.​

The bishop wants to temporarily make the Seamen's Church available to all, for example by marking the direction of Mecca and removing Christian symbols...​

The United Church of Canada has a married lesbian Moderator (leader of the church). I am not sure if she knows what Muslims think of lesbians.

This is not entirely unprecedented in that it's like Moby Dick where pagans such as Queequeg were welcomed in Father Mapple's Whaleman's Chapel as were others. Jack tars of all faiths sailed together and were always tolerant of each other's religion for centuries. Therefore, the pastor's inclusion of other religions is the norm as in the old NYC Seamen's Church Institute where my dad and his buddies went to in the old days.
