Blackleaf, PLEASE, PLEASE read and heed: "Brevity is the soul of wit.." (Shakespeare)

It is not Blackleaf who writes such lengthy posts, Yukon Jack. He simply copy and pastes the news article.

Having said that, do posters really read such long articles? I don’t. If I have to quote a long article, I simply give a link to the article. Then I briefly describe the salient points from the article, in my words.

That pretty much gives the reader the gist of the article in only a few words, without having to post a huge big article. And if somebody does want to refer to the original article, they can always go to the web link.

im not much of a mathemetician, but is 1/5 a scary thought?

Not for me, Johnnny. Just as conservative projections indicate that there will be huge number of Muslims by 2050, their projections also indicate that there will be very few liberals left by 2050.

According to conservative statistics, liberals have far fewer children than conservatives, so liberals are slowly dying out. Conservatives are happy about this projection.

So according to conservative projections, there will be only Fundamentalist Muslims and Fundamentalist Christians left by the year 2050. Good luck to them all in sorting out their problems.

I've never understood those American measurements of liquor anyway. I buy 40 ouncers, which are 1.14 liters.

That is how much duty free alcohol you are permitted to bring in Canada after you have been out of the country more than two days. If you see the duty free shops on US – Canada border, many of them have 1.14 litre bottles, rather than 1 litre bottles. That is to take the maximum advantage of the duty free allowance.

That would make them click the link for sure in order to get an accurate version of what was said.

You might try C&P on the first paragraph, sometimes the last, as that is usually where the author synopsizes their own point.

Which is actually a quarter of a Imperial gallon (or a quart). I have no idea about the "fifth" either, except it's about a liter.
