The 700-year-old oak chair, upon which King Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II were all crowned, is being restored for the crowning of King Charles III on Saturday 6th May.

As is traditional, the Stone of Scone will be brought down from Scotland to be placed in the gap under the chair and above the lions for the Coronation.

The Stone of Scone (pronounced "scoon"), aka the Stone of Destiny, is placed under St Edward's Chair during coronations.
