A B.C. company has been fined thousands of dollars following a guilty plea involving the illegal import of fins from a threatened species of shark.

Sharks are supposed to keep the oceans healthy and they are so sick as it is. Full of plastic dead zones, toxins, microplastics and radiation. These individuals need to serve jail time and fined way more than this ridiculous small fine. Laughable. . The Gov't needs to set a precedent so this barbaric behaviour comes to a grinding halt here in BC anyway. I will not be eating at Asian restaurants anymore after finding out about this. I love the oceans too much.

I f*cking LOVE shark fin soup. I also haven't eaten a bowl of it since I learned how the fins were harvested. I mean if they're at least harvesting the entire shark that's one thing, but too many just cut off the fins and toss the shark back into the water to slowly "drown". No thanks.
