Hadn't heard that Kelly will not be ready to start the year. Seemed there was a sense of optimism for him to be ready at the GC celebration.

Given the scenario he does miss games I would sign Bethel-Thompson in a heartbeat. Being a season ticket holder you will know the quality of work the man brings with him. That said it likely creates a cap issue that is best to avoid.

MBT would be good in SK as well but sounds like they will go with Harris again.

6-9 months was the initial projection. I am sure everybody is hopeful for a quicker return. It will be a repeat of 2024 for the Argos.

Another somewhat strange but no more bizarre than the rest of the off season move by the Elks to hire Mark Kilam as Head Coach. Too many people doing the job for the first time for me to not expect growing pains. I'm interested to see how they do with free agency and whether they will need to pay up to attract talent. I don't see playoff money in their near future.

Would also think dealing with Tre Ford will be next on the list and no doubt the Elks would like to get it done but I think Tre wants to hear other offers if there are any so will demand big coin to sign now. Personally I would punt the bugger and have nothing to do with him. There are other good QB's. Problem is there is a love fest going on with the new owner so it will take some time

Big question for me is if the Riders are handing a big bonus to Trevor Harris or just bringing him to camp where others may be expected to compete for the job. That would be the way to do it rather than pay him a lump sum that pretty well guarantees he starts.

I could see Bethel Thompson going back to the spring league. No disrespect to his ability.

I think a lot of his success in Toronto was Toronto has a terrific OL. Saskatchewan has struggled with this for several years. If they improve their OL, their RB (and QB) performances will improve. They did improve a bit in that regard last year.
