heck of a game - kudos to Canada
What is especially good about IIHF is that the teams win on skillful play, not the violence we see in NHL. Too bad Major Juniors is not appreciated in the States as far too many Yanks are missing out on excellent hockey.

Outstanding game! For awhile there, I was very nervous but our kids hung in and the curse is broken. Kudos to both teams for one of the best World Junior Gold Medal games I have witnessed.

I think I only missed one game during the entire tourney, gopher and you are right there is some awesome talent out there from all the countries participating. But this team, Our World Juniors is our Dream Team. I am so happy for each and every one of our kids. What a tourney. What a finish.
I know I'm repeating myself but if there is one thing that this tournament proves beyond the shadow of a doubt is, that if the USA wants to win in international hockey (or in soccer or whatever) we will have to stop sending our best athletes to college and MUST use developmental leagues such as Major Juniors. There simply is no alternative.
Amazing game. When it was 5-1 I thought, hey maybe they might win this thing .... then it was 5-4 and just watching and waiting and watching and waiting ....

up and down game, those two quick goals for canada won the game for them, they were ready to win at the
drop of the puck, russians took a while to get going, that, to me was the difference, they are both

I heard some guys talking about how the NHL is so structured. Layers of defensive schemes everywhere. In a tournament like this there is no opportunity to get that complex. It becomes a game of skill rather than a game of strategy.

Well done to 'our boys'. Gutsy performance against a game Russian team. Nice to see Vladislav Tretiak there in support of the 'Red Army'... got a nice hand from us old timers.
I can't help but mention how much better those Team Canada jerseys look than those awful old 'flying man' logos of Hockey Canada.
