How to peel an egg without peeling

except that it can't propel it all the way through. it can only push it until the shell stops the spoon, right? Then you're essentially just mashing egg and shell together. If I'm picturing it right. Plus, you'd give the part through the shell time to expand back out, and put pressure on the...

How to peel an egg without peeling

lol... give the two a try and see which works. air pressure can spread out over the whole egg, rather than poking into just one spot, and propel the egg out. A spoon would just mash the spots it touches it.

Does anyone have a different way of cooking turkey?

Alright, that sounds like a fair way to cook a turkey juan... BUT... please promise me not to make turkey this way for holidays unless everyone in the house is in agreement! There's just a certain something about a properly roasted bird with stuffing, that makes a holiday. My m.i.l.'s penchant...

Talk about flooding the main page with one topic! Obama's now ousted Israel as the flavour of the day. Kudos! lol.

    Dessert Recipes

I skipped the butter simply because I've been trying to cut down on the added calories, and the sugar is plenty in and of itself IMO. And wanting a bit of a palette cleanser, I didn't really feel the need for the spices either, but, a touch of cinnamon and cloves would be lovely.

    Dessert Recipes

I hosted a somewhat impromptu dinner party last night, and was not 100% prepared. I made some appetizers, but, halfway through dinner realized that I'd neglected to plan anything for dessert. When the idea hit me, my company were quite thrilled with the idea of trying broiled grapefruit. What...

    Our Love/Hate relationship with pharmaceuticals

Modern discourse about the medical industry rarely takes place without at least one or two references to 'big pharma'. Thinly veiled hints and outright accusations about the underhanded methods employed by these companies abound. Suppression. Collusion. Diversion. The issue of the ethics...

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

juan, I'm not arguing with you. But my kids are 7 and 8, and I don't trust them around the fondue yet, thus I don't have one. It's not a slight against fondue. On that note I'm done with this thread as it's starting to sound like you're angry that I have fondue alternatives in my home. lol.

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

Which is why, like I said, we have the stone instead for now... because I don't trust my kids. Simple.

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

Or buy an alternative like I have, or don't buy one at all... lol. For the same reason you don't simply dump your fondue ingredients into the deep fryer in one shot. Much simpler than fondue silly! lol.

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

My mom was raving about doing the broth version at a friend's house not too long ago. And it has the bonus of being marginally safer if toppled than oil.

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

My son has managed to give himself three burns in the last two months. One helping make pancakes, one gooder that took off the fingerprint on one finger during a s'more making accident, and on Boxing day, he spilled a cup of hot apple cider into his lap. Until he quits growing at such a...

How many here have beef fondue occasionally?

I haven't ever done an oil fondue in my home. My kids are too young for me to even care to try (hubby had a horrible deep fryer accident in his family, so, I'm paranoid about hot oil). What I do have, and want to use soon, is a stone with two fondue flames that go underneath, that is supposed...

Our weather, The Day After Tomorrow?

Well juan, if you are entering into the day after tomorrow, make sure to really critically watch the movie to understand how to stay alive. 1. Be American. That's right... if you suspect it might be coming, you'd better pack up and go... NOW. Canadians don't stand a snowball's chance in...

    Kitchen tricks and tips

Some new stove have a hidden element (like my new one), so you can't do that. Putting foil in the bottom of my stove would likely destroy it, as the element would then be beneath the foil and you'd be trying to heat the oven through foil.

    Kitchen tricks and tips

I almost... very almost... did that the day before yesterday. I nearly cried just at the thought of what the coming weeks would have been like. The kids were busy talking away to me, and I'd opened the oven to check on some chicken I had cooking on a ceramic pan. I couldn't quite see it, so I...
