    How about eggs?

I'm tossing around the possibility of having either poached eggs on toast or an open Spanish omelet for lunch. Hopefully I'll make up my mind between here and the kitchen. :D

What to do about global warming

It's overpopulated considering what the current population does to the planet. It's quite simple really, the more humans there are the fewer other forms of life there is. The more humans there are the more room humans need, the more fresh water humans need, and so on. Neither; it's logic.

What to do about global warming

I guess you missed Anna's post. http://www.uwsp.edu/geo/faculty/ritt...f_systems.html This stuff is what Thieme and co. is referring to: On the Phenomenon of Atmospheric Backradiation So, everything needs to be recalculated and verified again. In the meantime, deniers will take this as an...

What to do about global warming

I'd say that should pretty much kill Extra's posts about "heavily subsidised" alternative energy. I see he hasn't bothered to refute Anna's comment on trapping carbon as well as cutting back, also. I think the incentive to develop better energies will eventually overshadow the stupidity of...

    Baked Beans

Sounds like what we have around here, except I'm sure Anna uses ham or bacon, garlic, and pepper in hers. I think maybe a little hickory smoke, too.

    Our cooling world

Don't be silly. Life is life and life cannot prevent impact of life unless it quits living. We pollute. We can prevent pollution (or at least cut down a lot) without dying off. It's a matter of ability to choose. So far, we've chosen to pollute. We can also choose to not pollute. A mosquito (or...

    Our cooling world

Yes, there has been manipulation on all sides. What we know is that the world is warming, it is warming at a faster rate than ever before, that the rise in GHGs is parallel to the warming, that we pollute, that it is likely that the pollution has had an effect on climate. I'd have thought it...

    Our cooling world

Anything worthwhile in life comes with a cost. I'm not sure. I know T-C squawked a bit because it meant dipping into its profits. Same for Celgar. But I am not sure if the taxpayers chipped in to help them clean up or not. We're all better off for the cleanup, though. The financial end of it is...

    Our cooling world

Don't be silly. We rely on what we know and we rely on what the evidence points to, not what politicians, newsmedia, etc. steer us into. Wrong. Ya think? The globe isn't cooling. Wrong again. There are people that deny the world is round, that tomatoes aren't poisonous, that everything in the...

    Our cooling world

As Anna said, we start by cleaning up our own back yard first. Then we put pressure on gov'ts and companies to do the same.

    Our cooling world

Who gives a damn about the jury? The facts are that we pollute and we'd be better off if we didn't. The majority of the evidence points to human interference, though, and we've interfered with other natural systems.

    Our cooling world

It's the first time humans have had a hand in speeding the process up, though. Pushing the river is foolish at best.

SPLIT thread: Why to do anything about global warming

The northern hemisphere is losing ice hand over fist, the southern hemisphere is experiencing the hottest summers they had for long periods of time, the oceans' average mean temperatures are rising and yet the globe isn't warming. Interesting.

Global Warming ‘Greatest Scam in History’

Uh, yeah, she did say that. AB is part of a geological region, I think, or am I wrong? She also said if rocks produce oil like Beaver says why don't we see oil coming from places where there's a lot of rocks? Nepal and Tibet must have a lot of oil lakes, maybe? In its fluid state, I agree. Or...
