The firechief of Kelowna recently resigned after four years service receiving a severance package in excess of $200,000. Strange Egg.

For the first time in my life when cracking eggs for breakfast this morning, I came across an egg with a double shell. Is that rare or am I just naive? The outer shell was cracked in the box, but upon closer examination I noticed another shell underneath. I ate the evidence. Was that a mistake?

Huge mistake in early Pickton investigation.

A victim in the early days who managed to get away after being brutally attacked, was written off as not credible. Why? Because she was a hooker or on drugs? Do people who would make such a connection have any business in the legal/justice system? Did that mistake cost 50 or 60 lives...

The cops don't like the boss

Appararently several years ago Stephen Harper replaced the head honcho with a civilian contrary to the old practice of someone who had risen through the ranks. Now it seems sh*t is hitting the fan.

Are more people becoming "unhinged" today?

I get the impression that there are a lot more troubled people today than there were 50 years ago. Things like "bi polar" then were unheard of. What's causing this epidemic?

    Has Harper got the "balls"?

With the R.C.M.P. officially finding no wrong doing on Helena Guergis' part, is Harper man enough to reinstate her to her position and make a public apology?

Traditional census- do we still need them?

In this day and age of modern technology do we still need the census information to be gathered in the traditional manner of having thousands of "bean counters" going door to door ferreting out information that is otherwise available through government agencies such as the post office, revenue...

Marital status- whose business is it?

I notice quite often on newscasts, when identifying people the reports read something like "Joe Blow and his common law wife Mary Puff" What is wrong with just saying "his wife"? (For the record the wife and I have papers) I think the aura of "naughtiness" there may have been 40 years ago no...

Judicial Review of taser happy cops.

Lawyer Richard Peck is going to review the decision not to charge the police involved in the taser death of Robert Dziekanski. What is left to possibly review? I would venture to say Peck is one of very few British Columbians who see any doubt in the guilt of the thugs.

    Bipolar Disorder

I understand that some people are born with bi polar disorder but a substantial percentage contract it after using street drugs. I'm just wondering if anyone happens to know what that percentage is. My wife has a niece who is bi polar contracted that way. Normally a brilliant person, but when...

Mayor of West Kelowna making trouble?

The mayor of West Kelowna has recently decreed that owners of houseboats anchored in Gellatly Bay in Okanagan Lake have to remove the houseboats. When he spoke recently on C.B.C. radio, two reasons he cited were they were an eyesore and the owners weren't paying property taxes. I say the money...

    Another piece of bureaucratic idiocy

I just saw on Global News that campfires in B.C. are going to be restricted to 1/2 metre diameter and 1/2 metre in height. Sounds like a "white shirt and tie" decision in some office. If the person in charge of the fire is irresponsible, the size of the fire is irrelevent.

    Canadian productivity stagnant

I just heard on C.B.C. news that Canadian productivity is stagnant, in fact 25% behind that of the U.S. , which is in dire danger of lowering our standard of living. Shouldn't we be firing these drones that aren't producing? What role does the Unions have in this?
