    Simple never-fail recipes

But if glass is so easy to make, it must be cheaper to make which should balance out the cost.

    Simple never-fail recipes

I don't understand why they don't go back to using glass for a number of things - pop/beer/juice. It was used and re-cycled even when I was a kid so surely it can still be done.

    Pastry lard

I don't think it's the lard because: (Crisco is shortening) GRANDMOTHER'S HARD GINGERBREAD COOKIES 3/4 c. Crisco 1 c. sugar 1 c. molasses 3 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. ginger Mix all together - batter will be very stiff. Pat out onto cookie sheet...

    Pastry lard

You are eating almost straight lard (and or shortening)in the icing on a store made cake. That's why most of them taste so gross. I have always used lard in my pastry but I don't let any of the family members know that because many are vegetarians. Shortbread has to have butter.

    Lamb recipes

I don't buy a lot of fish because - I am a Halibut fan and it's both expensive and scarce. I do like Sockeye as well but not near as much. I know the packaging at SS says it is fresh fish but the claim is that it is farm fish. It is nothing I am certain of so I am certainly not prepared to say...

Good for you. Produce marked in such a manner means they have mixed the fruit from the two countries so you have to go through and read those tiny little labels. So far I have not seen mixed Delicious Apples (red) - just those marked with a grown in BC label. Gala's show both countries. Not much...

OTTAWA - The federal government plans to bring in legislation to allow judges to impose what are essentially consecutive life sentences for multiple murderers. Justice Minister Rob Nicholson said Wednesday he wants to ensure that serial killers or repeat killers pay an appropriate price. "Life...

    Hands free driving legislation

Apparently Ontario has banned the use of hand held cellular phones as of today. Word is that the BC Government will be doing the same at the end of January 2010. In my opinion, this law cannot take place fast enough. New legislation banning the use of hand-held cellular phones in vehicles is...

    Quick Pickles...

I don't process fruit for anywhere near that long. I only do fruit for 20 min. As long as it seals it's fine. Same with my tomatoes. We use a tbsp. of lemon in the tomatoes to make them more acidic. Again - as long as they seal it's all good. I wouldn't do veggies without a pressure cooker and...

    Quick Pickles...

We bought Bicks for years and years. Then I told my husband that we sell a lot of Vlassic pickles at SOM so I bought some for him. (Dills) He raves about them to everyone. I can hardly keep them in the fridge!

What would you do with advanced warning? When it's over - it's over. It's not like you need to worry about your will or anything. Don't need to worry about revenge. Sounds like all such things would be taken care of in a one fell sweep.:-P I know - you want to get a time capsule ready and hope...

James roszko was a ticking bomb

EDMONTON — James Roszko was a ticking bomb primed with a murderous lust for revenge long before he shot and killed four RCMP officers on a lonely Alberta acreage, says a forensic psychologist. "He was so revenge-oriented and he had for so many years been fantasizing about killing a police...

Global Warming ‘Greatest Scam in History’

I cannot be bothered to go back and read all you are all talking about. I just know this thread is called "Global Warming "Greatest scam in history". Well - last winter we all laughed because global warming wasn't happening. It was more (much more) like global cooling. Then summer happened. This...

Talking pointer is the star product at CNIB's new Vancouver store

This is pretty cool! Clerk Kathelean Jordan, who was born blind, points a pen-like doohickey at a tiny label on a tin can and smiles broadly as it correctly announces, "Heinz Pork and Beans." The doohickey is called the PenFriend and it's the star attraction at the newly opened CNIB store on...

    Turkey Dinner

Love traditional Turkey Dinner because we "reserve" it for only a few occassions per year. I hate turkey dressing! (Unless it's rice dressing with almonds)

Flu is not the biggest danger ...... It's the vaccine

Gloves or plastic bags. My son's feet used to peel when he was around 12 or 14. I used to put vaseline all over his feet and then put on plastic bags (bread bags) and socks to hold the bags in place. By morning his feet would be soft as a baby's bum. I use vaseline intensive care at least twice...

Flu is not the biggest danger ...... It's the vaccine

That's great Anna but we don't all live on acreage. The store was so busy today that I am so tired tonight I feel like I rolled down the side of a long hill and hit every bump on the way. I dealt with at least a couple of hundred people and that's just me. One cashier. There are lots of us and...
