    Food Waste

I toss enough overripe fruit, stale bread and limp veggies away every week to feed a third world family. I do feel bad about it, honest.

    Who eats out?

I use foil pie and cake pans. Don't bake much so cost is not a factor. Plus if I get it wrong I can destroy foil to get product out or toss whole nine yards.

    Who eats out?

Placement of pies in oven is critical. Too high top burns bottom is mushy. Too low bottom overdone and top not browned. Try different racks and positions in oven when baking pies.

    Sodium

I buy this packaged parmesan risotto. Tasty and low in fat. 1/4 of box is a portion and contains 2% of fat for the day. Pretty good. I can even eat 1/2 the box and not cheat on my diet. I try to stay at 5% or lower per porton. Was really hungry the other night and ate whole box. So that put me...

Nettle pudding and other ancient recipes

I'm from Yorkshire so no one could make Yorkshire pudding as authentic as my mum. Surprisingly the Knorrs packet mix is close. It took my stepmum years to be able to recreate my mum's mince pies. Blackcurrant jams are not that popular in Canada. I buy Isreali kosher blackcurrant jams from an...

    Dinning Alone

I put cranberries in my rice not the chicken curry dish. I have put them in rice with curry powder added. I always use veggie stock for my rice. Chicken stock if I'm having chicken. No one carries a fish stock. Beef, chicken and vegetable but no fish. I'm assuming it does not keep no matter how...

Global Warming ‘Greatest Scam in History’

Wether global warming is man made thing or not should not be the issues. Global warming is happening. The question should be "What are we going to do about it". Shall we just drive around in our SUV's waiting for the end of our civilization or should we put all this human intelligence to use and...
