FBI Raids Former President Donald Trump’s Home

Actually, I did. I was in the intelligence community for a while, and it absolutely did, and does, piss me off when "important" people ignore the law and walk away laughing. The rest of your stuff is bullshit. So Bill talked to the AG. Why not? Anybody can talk to the AG, if they can get to...

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

Not really. Both can go up to death penalty. The Federal government usually has a better grade of cops and prosecutors, but that can cut either way. Most of the people being let out of prison for crimes they didn't commit went up on state convictions.

FBI Raids Former President Donald Trump’s Home

Wutabout Hillary is classic whataboutery. But do compare the wrongdoings. Let's see how they're "the same or very similar." You can start by demonstrating that Hillary ignored repeated requests to turn over the documents after she was no longer Secretary of State.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

Y'know, frankly I don't much give a rap about the distance somebody'd have to drive, or bus, or skateboard, or about cost, or about six weeks or fifteen weeks or twenty-four weeks, or any tearjerking stories of little girls raped by their stepfathers, or any of that. The incredible intrusion...

FBI Raids Former President Donald Trump’s Home

If you're interested, I'll explain the difference between State Department secrets and defense and intelligence secrets, Serryah. The peanut gallery isn't interested, and they don't give a damn about Hillary one way or t'other. They're just desperately trying to protect Jesus Superman Trump.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

A lot of people in the U.S. don't drive.

FBI Raids Former President Donald Trump’s Home

No point, Serryah. Just another whataboutery. Anything to divert attention from the issue, which is that Trump removed classified documents from a secure facility and refused to return them despite repeated requests. They tried to do this the easy way, he chose the hard way.

    PM Sell-by Dates

Question for y'all living in countries with parliamentary systems. What makes people choose to oust a popular PM? Not talking about True Dope, but one with consistently high ratings. In the post-WWII era, three out of nine German chancellors (their PMs) have had stays in the neighbourhood of...

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

Too much stuff in play. More than half of all abortions in the U.S. are by drugs, not surgery. It'll have to shake out which states will ban the drugs, and how the Federal government (which has authority over the postal system) rules on mailing the drugs into banning states. Further, unless...

    So. . . that's a "yes?"

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

With you on that. Basically promising to be damn sure there WON'T be a business case by the time he gets done with it.

Premiers call for more federal cash, discuss private sector delivery after health care summit

That is indeed a challenge. As I said, humans are bad at planning.

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

"Factoring in" is part of building the business case. What the hell are we even arguing about? Obviously, businesses will do what is profitable. Equally obviously, if government wants business to do this or that, it will have to sweeten the pot, by raising revenue, lowering costs, or both. A...

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

"To a degree but what I'm discussing specifically is the business case." Fixed that fer ya. And in any enterprise more complex than a lemonade stand, government regulation and subsidy is part and parcel of the "business case."

Feds probe 'disturbing' tweets by consultant on government-funded anti-racism project

I've been saying for a while that the political spectrum isn't a line, it's a horseshoe, with the two extreme ends much closer to each other than either is to the center.

Premiers call for more federal cash, discuss private sector delivery after health care summit

Humans are good at crisis response. Planning, not so much. You'd think it'd be fairly simple to predict health-care needs, and it is. Not quite 2+2=4 simple, but pretty predictable. Subsidizing education for critical fields just makes sense. Educator and science-fiction author Jerry...

FBI Raids Former President Donald Trump’s Home

I guess anybody stupid enough to be unable to recognize the difference between personal-care products and classified information is pretty confused at this point.

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

Meh, partly. I agree with most of what you said, but industry tends to have a "cheapest this week" mindset. That's a big part of what got Germany single-sourcing LNG in the first place. As I said, multi-sourcing critical materiel is vital, as the current flap in Europe demonstrates. That...

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

Of course it's off. You've got an ideologue in the Big Chair. But the way to make progress for as long as he's there is to marshal your facts, construct indisputable arguments, and present them clearly. Could peel away some MPs. Even if it don't, you'll have all the data you need in place...

Trudeau Makes Good on Ethical Energy to Germany

How much would infrastructure to move LNG to the eastern ports cost, and how long would it take to put it in, and how long would the Europeans buy it? These are the important questions. I think the Ukraine war has taught anybody with enough sense to pour piss out of a boot that multi-sourcing...
