    M & Ms

With over 73 years to its name and no signs of stopping, the Ukrainian Co-op has long been one of Regina’s commercial and cultural landmarks. The co-op has come a long way since its founding in 1936, with three moves and four expansions, but has retained its relationship with the community...

    M & Ms

I hate to say it, but I don't even know where to find an M&M Meats locally at this point....but I do know how to follow my nose (especially when the humidity is up, & the wind is blowing gently from the west) due to this: ...found out in the alley behind the Ukrainian Co-op two blocks from...

So....are there any working Thorium Reactors currently in production?

Scientists link harsh winter to dramatic decline in Arctic Sea Ice

I wonder how many of the green alternatives above are manufactured or shipped without the use of fossil fuels? Just wondering about the irony in the debate, is all.

    Favorite beer(s)?

Can't you drink Heineken? I know a few Celiac's & one of them drinks this, & only this. I don't know if it's truely Gluten-Free, but it works for her. Personally, if I can get my hands on it, I like "Sol Limon" (a cheap Mexican Lime beer), but I like pretty much any Lime beer, be it Miller...

    Spring is Here...............

Mine's a full basement, but only 4ft in the ground. The sump is plumbed into the city sewer system though....& the infrastructure has become questionable in recent years. Some of the summer storms fill the sewers, & the pump doesn't have enough umph to pump it past the pressure in the city...

    Spring is Here...............

    Spring is Here...............

I remember a Spring like that in '82 or '83, when this happened on an Easter weekend. Crazy.

    Spring is Here...............

    Spring is Here...............

Not so much out here on the Flatlands. Still lots of snow on the ground, & a bit more everyday it seems. Kind'a hard to describe what we're seeing here. Sounds like we've broke some records (again) for snowfall. Had a full years accumulation on the ground before the end of November...& that was...

    Pot Roast to die for

Bisto is good stuff. My Grandma used it too.

    Pot Roast to die for

It's good, but it takes a long time. Go with a method like #Juan uses in the O.P. (Post#1). Way easier!!! Much quicker too. I usually just toss a big roast in a roasting pan (a big one with a lid), season with coarse black pepper and a seasoning (lots of it) called "SPIKE". (Spike's...

    Pot Roast to die for

Going back to the O.P. on a similar technic, here's one to try if you have the time. Sear the roast closed like in the O.P. Think of it as a cube regardless of its shape and sear it on six sides seems to work. I use olive oil & a wok for this, but whatever. I've done this several times with...

What are you eating right now?

I had three chicken burger type things & a double bacon burger & a poutine, in about four minutes. I hear you and have empathy.

What are you eating right now?

Supper tonight was a litre of Pineapple Juice in an effort to flush out a fast lunch of raunchy Burger King stuff that is riding like some grease bomb brick somewhere between my ribs & my legs still.

Rinks in Canada’s Arctic Turn to Cooling Systems

If it's cold...it's weather. If it's hot...it's climate. I can't wait for a little July climate, 'cuz I'm already tired of this January weather...nice as it has been.

Rinks in Canada’s Arctic Turn to Cooling Systems

Pete, we're experiencing weather here, but warming is climate...or something like that.

Climate Change Kills 5 Million People Every Year

Maybe that last bit was suppose to hit a dating site, & not be attached to the tail end of a doom & gloom bit like it is.

Climate Change Kills 5 Million People Every Year

I'm notpicking on you here Boomer, but I'm going to post the first paragraph from this LINK in this post too, underlining the words that jump out at me, as I perceive things: One of the biggest issues facing us right now is global warming. Its effects on animals and on agriculture are indeed...

Climate Change Kills 5 Million People Every Year

When you factor in the materials used in solar panels, and their manufacture & shipping, and eventual decommisioning....are they really 'green' in a 'good for the environment' sort'a way?
