Excellent eh1eh; You don't get a nice appetizer in many restaurants unless you order it from the menu. We have several Greek restaurants in Nanaimo and it's almost time for a roast lamb dinner with rice and potatoes....

Talloola You take the Cedar turn off and eventually you will see signs for the Crow and Gate Pub. BTW, the Crow and Gate was the first official "pub" when the rules changed to allow pubs in B.C..

We live not too far away from the Longwood. It is not a bad place and the food is pretty good. I just feel it just doesn't have the character to be a good pub. Have you been to the Crow and Gate? out in Cedar? I think it is the best pub in B.C.....Even if they don't serve fish and...

No, they are in there for good. It would probably take open heart surgery to remove them. They are a little wire mesh cylinder that can be expanded inside a blood vessel where there is a near blockage.

Yes, ditto for me. I went through the same procedure two years ago. This last time I didn't have surgery. They put in three stents(little things that enlarge the heart arteries) Almost like by-pass. surgery.

I will definitely try that place Zan. We are due....or overdue for a trip to Victoria. I miss just walking around the place.......Pub lunches.........A few dinners out that I didn't cook. We'll try it.......Soon...:smile:

PS Zan There used to be a place sort of like Barb's in Nanaimo.....Right down in the marina, but it changed hands and now the fish is mostly batter.

I've seen Barb's place Zan but I've never eaten there. Fish and chips is obviously one of my favourite meals. Comes from having had real English fish and chips in London. You haven't lived until you've had good fish and chips served in a newspaper.....Once in a while you would get something...
