In theor In theory, we are the government. We elect supposedly responsible people to look after our money. When they refuse to act in a responsible manner, we naturally get upset and tend to replace the crooks with new crooks. When the crooks gain too much power, the citizens often remove them...

Which means that we the taxpayer are paying for it. We also are forced to pay for free needles and drugs for junkies, but hard working, taxpaying diabetics are forced to pay for their own needles and insulin unless they have a private plan that helps pay.

Also completely ignored the fact that the majority of fires this year have been human caused. Many deliberately, some normal human stupidity. One woman was charged with starting 32 fires so far in Alberta, and there have been others.

Canada: Alberta wildfires force nearly 30,000 residents to flee

Last time I looked, Spain and Portugal are both in the Northern Hemisphere, which means they tend to have fires the same time we do. There is one other thing I forgot to add in my last post. By stripping city departments of their crews to fight forest fires, cities become more vulnerable to...

Canada: Alberta wildfires force nearly 30,000 residents to flee

They do have sort of a point. But, most municipal firefighters that have rural areas also take wildfire training, and also have the proper equipment for urban interface fires. I don't know about Quebec, but BC Wildfire Service does not have much in the way of sprinkler systems available, while...

    Scandal!

A guy I worked with back in the 70s married a woman that was taking psychology. Now he was a bit out there, but a hell of a nice guy. She told everyone she married him to use him for her master’s thesis. Sadly he was run over by a mine truck a couple of years later.

Critics call for reforms to Toronto's mayoral election: 'Worst possible system'

I believe there has been the odd provincial election that generated over 50%. It would take some digging. 2001 BC election probably. Probably some in Alberta too. We reduced the NDP to two seats. Can’t recall if there was an independent at that time. All the rest were BC Liberals.
