In his call with CNBC, Trump said he wasn't worried about
oil prices, which had spiked after Iranian state news outlet Tasnim reported earlier Monday that Tehran was halting negotiations and clamping down on the Hormuz Strait. "I think the oil will be dropping like a rock in the very near, you know, the very near distance," Trump said.
Oil prices trended lower on Tuesday following the previous session's sharp gains as the market remained cautious about progress in U.S.-Iran peace talks.

similarly told CNBC, “I really don’t care. I couldn’t care less,” adding that he thought the protracted talks had become “very boring.”
Less than an hour later, he used his social media platform
to say largely the opposite, declaring that talks with Iran are continuing “at a rapid pace,” which came on the heels of
a related online item in which Trump also claimed he had spoken to both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah representatives, adding that both sides had agreed to stop attacking one another, which probably came as a surprise to those actually in Lebanon.
