Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Washington has shown it was "not serious" about pursuing the diplomatic process and Tehran would not change its clearly stated demands, adding that it did not believe in deadlines or ultimatums when safeguarding national interests.

Trump earlier warned that the U.S. would destroy every bridge and power plant in Iran if it rejected his terms, continuing a recent pattern of such threats.

Iran has said that if the United States were to attack its civilian infrastructure, it would strike power stations and desalination plants in its Gulf Arab neighbours.
They’re close to a deal to end the Iran war. They’re not. The Strait of Hormuz is open. It’s not. The uranium required to create a nuclear weapon is about to be shipped out of Iran. It’s not.

The two sides that have opposed each other in the war are issuing opposite assessments of the negotiations that are either moving toward a broad settlement or are not – and could be followed by higher-level meetings in Pakistan as soon as Monday night that might bring a conclusive end to the weeks-long crisis but might not.
Well there is a leadership vaccum with various factions vying for control . One hand doesn’t agree with the other . Don’t expect much movement until one faction or another consolidates power .

"So far, no delegation from Iran has departed for Islamabad, Pakistan," Iranian state TV said on Tuesday, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise.

Both sides have accused the other of ceasefire breaches, with the US leader saying Iran fired on ships in the crucial trade route it has choked, and Tehran calling the US blockade and its seizure of a ship violations as well, etc…

Despite Tehran so far shunning new talks, Trump expressed confidence he could secure an agreement that favored Washington?

"We're going to end up with a great deal. I think they have no choice... We're in a very, very strong negotiating position," Trump told broadcaster CNBC on Tuesday.

Iranian officials, however, say they feel the Trump administration has not acted in good faith in negotiations and has refused to back down from what they called excessive demands.

Its parliament speaker said the country would not accept talks "under the shadow of threats" from the US leader, and would "show new cards on the battlefield" if the conflict resumed.

That was supposed last.
How long does cease fire supposed to last? How long the whole war was supposed to last seven weeks ago? I just didn’t understand the reference is all. It’s not at the four years into a three day war period yet…but it sure doesn’t feel like anything that’s going to end quickly.

Or the leaders of several factions end up dead.

Not quite. Iran has a leadership vacuum. The US has a leader in a vacuum.

Troops will be homos by Christmas.
Which one (which Christmas I mean)? Is this a Tuesday? It feels like a Tuesday….
President Trump said that the U.S. will extend its cease-fire with Iran and continue the blockade of the country’s ports until its leaders present “a unified proposal.” The move came after Vice President JD Vance canceled plans to travel to Pakistan on Tuesday for negotiations with Iran over ending the war, highlighting uncertainty about future peace talks.

Trump, in an interview with CNBC, said he wants to make sure the threat from Iran is ended even if it means the war doesn’t wrap up quickly. “I have all the time in the world,” he said???

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he would extend a ceasefire with Iran hours before it was due to expire, pledging to refrain from attacks until discussions with Tehran “are concluded, one way or the other.” ??? Meaning what?

The decision to extend the ceasefire marked a significant shift for Trump😳, on a Tuesday, who earlier in the day had said that if a deal was not reached by Wednesday, he expected to “be bombing, because that is a better attitude to go in with.” He added that the military was “raring to go.”🙄
His latest (latest-latest) reversal had the effect of handing the initiative to Tehran, which has reveled in its ability to dial up pressure on global energy markets through its stranglehold over the Strait of Hormuz. And it was the latest measure of Trump’s appetite for renewed conflict, which for now appears low.
The above link must be from a few hours ago, I guess, and as of April 21, 2026, there is no public information indicating a specific state dinner or public menu being served at the White House this evening. Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said Tuesday evening that talks would resume only after Washington ends the blockade.
In his announcement about the extension, Trump said he had instructed the U.S. military to “hold” an attack on the country but ordered U.S. forces to continue a naval blockade on ports in Iran — and to, “in all other respects, remain ready and able” to act.

“I think the next round of the negotiations will take place in Islamabad,” Amir Saeid Iravani said. He called the naval blockade a violation of the ceasefire (that’s now extended indefinitely) and reiterated that lifting it is a condition for new negotiations to take place. The U.S. started the war, Iravani said, and if Washington wants to return to the negotiating table “and find a political solution, they will find us ready.”

Epic Failure.

It's war on the Petro Dollar.

Nutlessyahud convinced Trump pipelines and a canal through Israel were the answer when Iran cut the Straight Hormones and blew the shit out of GCC states but US not protecting GCC as promised killed the Honda Accords.

Pipelines to feed Suez westward will happen.

Iran seized two ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, tightening its grip on the strategic waterway after Donald Trump called off attacks indefinitely with no sign of peace talks restarting.

As he announced what appeared to be a unilateral ceasefire extension, Trump also said he would continue the U.S. Navy's blockade of Iran's trade by sea. The United States fired on and seized an Iranian cargo vessel on Saturday and boarded a huge Iranian oil tanker on Tuesday in the Indian Ocean.

Iran considers the U.S. blockade an act of war and has said it will not lift its closure of the strait, which has caused a global energy crisis, as long as the U.S. blockade continues.
Iran has condemned the U.S. Navy intercepting Iranian ships at sea as part of its blockade, including a huge tanker bound for Singapore that was boarded in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday hours before peace talks had been due to resume according to Trump. Iran's foreign ministry accused the U.S. of "piracy at sea and state terrorism".
