Sounds like your place is a good place to be at supper time.

My wife and I have taken to always keeping a couple in the freezer. We buy them when they're on sale and we always have something good, easy and quick to serve to serve when unexpected company comes, or when we just don't feel like fussing with other things.

Even done medium-well on the BBQ, the term is not misleading. My wife and I bought our own box today. 1.7 kg for $23 but apparently sometimes goes on sale for $20.

Oh yes, roast beef sandwiches! Love 'em. Those pot roasts are on a 3-day sale right now. $5 off. Good to stash in the freezer. Something new we tried at our son's place a couple of days ago - Black River brand Angus Steaks (Extra Tender). Frozen product available at Walmart, 10 steaks to a...

    'Capitalism Is Humanity's Neurosis'

Here's an interesting interview from "Spiegel" (English) that in a capitalistic society we face a tyranny of choices... Philosopher Renata Salecl on the Tyranny of Choice - SPIEGEL ONLINE It doesn't suggest any alternatives, but it does make a good point in that Salecl says, "...we can live a...

I could do that, but I just don't feel much incentive. Fortunately, I don't have to watch every penny when buying cuts of meat, so the way I do it works fine for me. The only cut-and-wrapped meat I have is venison from the deer we shoot every fall.

If I feel like a decent steak, M&M's will do nicely. When I feel like a special steak, we have a couple of local butchers here who are really good. The thing I don't like about cut-and-wrapped meat in the freezer is that I can't see it before thawing and unwrapping. I like seeing cuts of meat...

"What's for supper tonight? Beef again???" "Yeah, we've got to empty that freezer." :-P My eating goes in moods and trends. I'd hate to eat lots of one certain thing just because I have to get my money's worth.

I'm sure the levels aren't insane, but as a rule it's best to stay away from as much in the way of additives and preservatives as possible. Cooking your own, from unprocessed "raw materials", is the best way to go, I think. Not that I don't buy processed food, but I try to be aware just how...

I've never even once heard anyone refer to M&M's as a butcher shop. Where would this place be that it's common? Anywhere I've ever lived "the butcher's" is a place where a guy's behind the counter or in a back room cutting meat. On the premises. M&M's is a frozen foods store.

By the way, I agree that M&M's has some good stuff. We shop there from time to time when they have things on sale.

Ever see one of these? We saw a few of these on Ile d'Orleans, Quebec a few weeks ago. Looks like a do-it-yourself from prefab pieces. Some we saw had only the center section.

I get the impression you think there's some kind of a conspiracy against thorium. I think it's more reasonable to assume that thorium simply isn't the fantastic solution that some people make it out to be.
