Well folks, this is it. Have been listening to team 1040 this afternoon, and they have put so much
pressure on certain players on this team that I hope they don't listen, (and I'm sure they don't), or
they probably wouldn't show up. They are expecting Naslun, and Morrison to finally step up, and get this done, but I'm sorry I don't feel that way, they haven't done much of anything all year,
so, how could they suddently do it tonight, besides Morrison can't seem to play unless Cooke is
playing on his line. We've got Luongo, who we needed badly for many years, and now, if only they
will compliment him by at least scoring two goals, as it seems a shame that he plays at the other
end like it's game 7 every day, so the team has to help him out. Turco is doing the same thing but
in the last two games he hasn't had much work.
If Naslund doesn't show up again tonight, the first thing he should do after the game is take off
the C and hand it in.
So, let's see what happens, and I'll be back later, enjoy the game.
Win or lose tonight, I hope they come out flying and play that way all night, and if they lose doing
that, well, 'not so bad'.

Do you think Detroit would take Naslund for Bertuzzi? That is a joke........for now.

OK, the right results, they played an awsome 2nd and 3rd periods, but were tighter than a drum
in the first, seems like all of their arms and legs were made of wood.
Linden was awsome, (our real captain), as again, Naslund did nothing much at all.
Dallas took a page out of our book for a change, and took too many stupid penalties.
The twins rose their game another notch, and played like the super stars they are, and the
whole team played like a team, in the 2nd and 3rd periods and 'got er dun'.
On to Anaheim now, which will be a totally different series, as they are 'mean' and 'rough', and
will try to intimidate us on every occasion they can, we just have to back away and let them
take all the penalties. Their defense is good, but not as good as Dallas, and their goaltending
is good too, but not as good as Dallas. We will have to play 'tough'.
Loved the game, was so happy for Luongo, as his team came through for him, and I was
happy for that crowd, they are awsome.

Dallas was in the game and it could have gone either way until that first empty net goal and they understandably wilted. Up till that goal I was waiting for Dallas to tie it up. As you say, "It was the right result".

Yeah, till the buzzer goes, I would not even start to get excited, but after the empty netter,
then the next , that was it, such a relief.
And, replying to your above question, I wonder what will be Naslunds position next season, as he has that huge contract, and is not earning it. I think he has one more
year left, so noone will take him for that amount of money, so I guess he'll be here,
but I wonder, in what capacity. Hopefully he can still show something in these playoffs.

I missed the first period. Pretty exciting two and three. Schick and the boys were getting penalty happy. I suspect the league wanted more goals out of this series and told the refs to make more calls. They played practically 4 OT's penalty free in game one and probably didn't want another extended goal-free affair.

When Dallas scored the first goal, I thought, the way things were going, it could have stood up as the winner. Vancouver is a younger team and probably had a bit more drive left than Dallas. It is also possible that the Canucks listened to their coach....:smile:......he was yelling at them in that last game.

Our poor Canucks, just when they need every player they have, especially on defense, two of
our top defense players go down, Without Salo and Bieksa, our defense was quite muddled up
at times, not our usual efficient D men. I am just going to forget this game, and hope they will
be back next game, and we will play much better.
I don't expect to win this series, but I do think we can win a couple of games, as our team is much better than we played tonight
But Teamu Selanne and McDonald, cannot be left to skate the way they did tonight, Selanne
in my opinion, is one of the best "pure" goal scorers in the NHL.

Canucks played a good game tonight. Hats off to the D-men. They played great even with all the injuries they have. What can you say about Trevor Linden. What a work horse.

Well, we got the split we needed, and will come home tied 1 game each. Canucks played much better
tonight, lots of chances for both teams. everyone played well, Naslund got a goal, looked like his old
self for a few minutes, and he also had a better game all round tonight.
Pyatt had a good game, and again, Trevor Linden was involved in a winning playoff goal, as he made
a beautiful pass to Cowan who got away a quick shot, and their goalie let it in the short side.
We are missing four key players, and I found out that Bieksa has a broken foot, so I guess that's it
for the season.

So, home on Sunday, to that crazy crowd with their white towels, can't wait.

Couldn't watch the game last night, but I do know that Canucks had many power plays, and two were with two man advantage, and couldn't score, so without even seeing the game, I can say they would
have easily won had they just scored on one or two of them.
A problem with the team consistently, is the crippled power play.

OK, that's it folks. What a wierd game, Canucks didn't show up, with the exception of Luongo, who
played outstanding, and kept them in the game almost all of the game, then Canucks started to play
better, played very well in the overtimes, THEN, of all the people to make a mental error, it was
Luongo, who took his focus off the game, as he thought a penalty was going to be called, and he
wasn't paying attention, and the puck went past him, oh well, that's the way it goes.

I am very satisfied with the Canucks season, I enjoyed them verymuch, and I look forward to next
season, as I know they will pump up their scoring ability, and I know that defense will be better than
this season, although they were pretty good this year, but next season they have more guys who will
be coming to training camp, and guys like Sopel might not be back, as Bourdon,Kolstov, and others
will show up.

Nice chatting with everyone, enjoy your summer, see you in the fall.

The better team won the series. Team speed and overall talent took over. Hopefully the Canucks can find some of that for themselves next year. Still, they did pretty good and exceeded a lot of expectations.

The Canucks just didn't have it. They had problems with injuries on defense, and they didn't have the offensive punch they needed...........a problem they had all year........To be a serious contender in the NHL you have to have a solid defense and more than two decent forward lines.

The canucks had a successful season, considering what they started with, and what the expectations
were in the beginning of the season. Most people were going to be happy if we made the playoffs,
and to win the first round was a little more than that.
Vineault in my opinion, ( along with Luongo) is the nicest surprise of all, as he is a neatest coach,
and along with his assistants, I think they will go on to build this team next year and years to come.
The new NHL has become very fast, and it is easy to see when you watch Naslund and Morrison trying
to be the players they once were, as the young forwards coming into the league now, with the game
much faster than it was before lockout, has put many of the old forwards out of the mix.
Our defense was OK, and we have good prospects who will come up next year, to boost them forward
as well.
I really don't know what will happen to Naslund, as he has one more year at over 6 million on his contract, and no team is going to take him for that price, so my guess is that he will stay next year
and plug along on the second or third lines along with Morrison. Cooke and Cowan and Morrison actually did make up a pretty good line, then Cooke went down, and line broke up, so maybe they
will emerge again next year.
We have to look at this team in a positive way, as they are building now 'around Luongo', who will
be the cornerstone of the team for many years, so they will get better and better, as the management
and the coaching staff, are eager to add the kind of players they want to complement Luongo, and
I know they will do that. Nonis wanted Luongo in the worst way, and he went out and got him, and
now it will be exciting to see how he adds to the team next year.
I liked this team 'much' better than the old lazy 'so called' highly talented offensive group, with
Crawford at the helm. They were not responsible in their own end, waited for others to do the
checking, and Crawford liked it that way, and finally the players tuned him out, and it was obvious
the end was near, 'good' riddance to them.
We have some good players in Manitoba, and that team is now in the finals of their playoffs, in
their conference, and doing very well, but Nonis will have to go out for a couple of free agents in the
NHL as well, very highly skilled forwards, and also the 'right' player to top of the sedin line. The sedins are wonderful players, and had to come against the top defense group on the Anaheim team,
who are among the best in the NHL, so they can't be faulted for not being able to break through and
score like they did in the regular season, but they do need the third forward on that line to complete it, as some players did it for short periods this year, but they never did have the exact left winger they needed.

Anaheim definitely are a better team than the Canucks, and we knew that going into the series, but
that doesn't always mean a victory, the games still have to be played, and, as in the past, some
very good teams just don't get it done, and that often is because of a harder working team playing
against them, and better goaltending, but Anaheim's goalie was great, but last night Luongo played the best game I have ever seen him play, and he even said today in an interview, that he felt it was
his best game ever, he is so good, and I feel very lucky that we will be seeing him on our team for
a long time.

Not a bad season. Divisional champs, way over 100 points, 2nd round exit. Better than the Leafs, Canadiens, Oilers and Flames. As long as they do better than the make me laughs I'm happy.

Go Senators (only Canadian team left)

Yeah, I will be cheering for Ottawa too, they are playing great. Did anyone watch Buffalo/New York,
tonight, amazing ending, must have left New York stunned.
