Gilbert, of course. Immigration officers work on a quota system. The good are co-operative and easy to catch. The bad know the system and make it difficult for caseworkers to meet their numbers.

1) "Well there is simply a cost for services, but there is also a cost for jobs. Any job an immigrant takes is a job a Czech person couldn't." Your words there.

Now, unless you mean something other than what those words say right there, I don't have you wrong. If the words do mean something other, then please use other words. More accurate ones, perhaps.
Yes, it's a job a Czech person couldn't take, so the government wouldn't let them in if there was a qualified Czech person... which is why they don't take as many immigrants. The immigrants don't steal their jobs because the government doesn't allow it. Immigrants are more likely to go to a country like the UK which has jobs to give them. How is that inaccurate in any way? It's a statement of fact, not a paranoid rant that the immigrants are stealing our jobs which is how you seemed to take it.

On a forum like this, there will often be misunderstandings because people aren't speaking face to face. If I needed to clarify something, I'm fine doing that. Unfortunately, unlike some posters I'm not perfect. I'd appreciate it if I could explain myself without someone else telling me that they know what I think better than I do.

1) 2) I wrote "If you are talking about refugees" simply to cover the two major classes of newcomers: immigrants and refugees. As you were not talking about refugees, and there is an "if" in my statement, it obviously does not apply. As I am sure you already realized.
Yep. Doesn't apply, which is what I was letting you know... glad we're done with this one.

Soooo, t-racist...have you ever actually TALKED to someone of a different nationality? Have you ever actually exposed yourself to another culture? Have you ever got up and away from your TV to know that it isn't always telling you the truth, and immigrants are boogey men out to get you?

Are you even reading my posts? I AM an immigrant at the moment... one that's on an employment visa in fact, doing a job that this particular country needs done. Why would I consider people like me boogey men? I've lived overseas in the Czech Rep, travelled a fair bit, and volunteered at immigrant services in my hometown before living in heavily immigrant populated Vancouver and Toronto. I'm pretty sure I'm at least as knowledgeable as someone hanging out in Alberta.

...I'm just saying, that's all....you just come across as someone who has lived in a little, sheltered box...stuck in a world of stereotypes and misconceptions...and yet you seem to claim that you are in a position to understand. I don't get how that can be. I don't understand.
What stereotypes and misconceptions do you think I believe?

Exhibit A:

"The immigration problem in Britain really is culturally significant. Does the island want to keep its culture or not? Multiculturalism has been a great tool to diminish the West. For some reason leftists don't want western culture to continue. They want dilution. The clueless insistence on the equality of all cultures is simply a means to their end: the modification of western history, traditions and roots. To be replaced by some grand, humanist scheme, totally pie-in-the-sky that they're sure awaits. It's nuts."

Um...what can I say?

Maybe you can say "I'm sorry tracy for calling you a racist when you didn't even write the post I am attributing to you"?

I didn't post that. Please, go back and look at who did and then we can move on.

 I'm over it. I've misunderstood what people meant on this forum before too. Typos and reading comprehension mistakes can take a post and make it seem to mean something completely different from what the poster actually meant or said.
